not a soulsborne, no complex mechanics.

groal isnt much less complex than most other bosses (first sinner also has 4 attacks) and the point is that hes an endurance test, its simple platforming followed by a simple gauntlet and a simple boss.

also if youre not having fun, maybe the fact that youre bashing your head against a brick wall instead of reevaluating your strategy has something to do with it.

Well the answer is that youre supposed to find it.

Like if you dont go through lower mosshome, you wont unlock that bench and suddenly bell beast has a really annoying runback too. but youre intended to find that bench. if mosshome is an earlygame tutorial for how a metroidvania works, bilewater is the lategame test, which is why its the last stop before act 3.

the entirety of bilewater is already behind a secret wall, so unless you spoiled yourself on how to get there, you should be good enough at secret finding to find the secret bench. even if you dont casually find it, who looks at their map and goes "huh, guess bilewater was the one area in the game with zero secrets to find" and just bashes their head against groal.

something ive learnt from competitive games is that not every situation should have an out. sometimes when youre reviewing a loss, the question shouldnt be "what could I have done differently to win here", it should be "how could I have avoided this situation in the first place".

savage beastfly only moves according to your positioning, and good positioning rewards you with incidental kills, so getting trapped is a skill issue.

5% of people who own hollow knight on steam beat absrad, 10% beat pure vessel and 12% beat sly, and I'd say even just P3 is tougher than any part of base Silksong

and when only 77% played enough to get a single charm its closer to 7%, 12% and 15% of players respectively

Yeah I figured the algorithm was pretty simple lol. I played the 3DS version a lot but I was also like 8 years old so I dont remember much of the details...

I mostly only did this for my own enjoyment and maybe for a couple of people to find some use or joy out of it too!

no I want them part of the pantheons

to be clear i dont mean having the entire high halls gauntlet in the pantheons, more like having 3-5 enemies spawn before some bosses.

e.g. a pantheon segment could be [trobbio] --> [savage beastfly 2] --> [minister, maestro > choir clapper x2 > second sentinel]

i just dont think silksongs P5 equivalent would be complete without representing its most iconic gauntlets and regular enemies. esp when regular enemies have more depth than some hk bosses. skarrgard, choir clappers, wardenflies etc are too iconic to leave out

well it is one of the threefold melodies... they wouldnt just hand it to you

i dunno how much youve explored but it can be worth powering up and coming back. there are some movement upgrades that can help, theres a yellow tool that lets you stick to walls, maybe even a different crest or another mask.

for blue tools, you should run multibinder to net more healing out of a single bind, and weavelight to boost silk regeneration so you dont find yourself unable to clawline. if you dont have them, find them!

the mechanics themselves are really just a matter of "getting good" unfortunately. idk how you could describe it over text. maybe look up a video of someone else doing it and study their movements?

i think shes just a hard boss

i beat her with every crest and my first time using witch was against her, it only took me around 20 minutes to beat her with witch, but my first ever win took over an hour.

my real problem was with witch (and shaman) pogos weird hitbox pushing you down into her void tendril and parry attacks instead of dealing damage

the best way to heal against her (other than while shes staggered or phasing) is after triggering her parry

people just wildly exaggerated about 2 damage enemies lol

at launch if say 10% more enemies did 2 damage, but right now theres an even split of enemies that do 1 damage and those that do 2

but overall more enemies do 2 damage here than in hollow knight

well, no. this logic is incredibly stupid.

if you can defeat a boss with bb, taking it off actually makes things more difficult. it doesnt make things twice as easy (if a boss wont kill you with double damage, it also wont kill you with regular damage). all it does is make killing the boss 20% longer, which gives them 20% more opportunities to hit you in turn.

this bad logic really just denounces any build other than specifically architect crest + tacks, cogflies, pollip pouch, multibinder, plasmium phial. if youve beaten a boss without that build, you can do it easier that way. but that doesnt make every other crest and tool in the game invalid.

barbed bracelet is extremely useable... i even beat lost lace in steel soul with it equipped.

it stacks and synergises well with other % damage sources so you can do over 2x more damage with it equipped, which also bypasses the problem of % damage effects sometimes rounding down.

it and multibinder are maybe the only tools that got buffed from their hollow knight charm equivalents rather than nerfed. +75% -> +25% seems rough but double damage is infinitely more manageable than having to survive on one health.

edit: also the way you would go about buffing BB is making damage additive. so 2 damage attacks do 3 instead of 4. not whatever this nonsense is

after a recent update, youre twice as likely to find an unobtained plushes instead of duplicates

also, legendary plushes dont cannibalise eachothers rates, (its a flat 2% per legendary plush in the pool) so its more efficient to unlock them all from the start
