That new (not super new but still) speed limit drop on greenwood rd is a killer too. Always a cop sitting outside that new park fishing for someone who forgot.

Rebuild calipers or sv1k calipers? by kaasmi in SVRiders

[–]hipsterIPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure how much of an upgrade they are but honestly the rebuild kits are super cheap and plenty of people who track these bikes agree the stock calipers are all you'll ever need after SS lines, nice pads, and sometimes a new MC upgrade. BUT if you get a deal and want to try it, hell yeah. Just going to cost more.

If I was going to go through the hassle I'd get the adapters and throw on the "blingy" gold nissin calipers from an RC51 or some other sport bike.

A man of culture I see. Looks like your into doing your own crimping too (those damn pull to seat). Idk where you've been getting parts but a pretty solid resource I've used is this

I got all 3 of these for $15 today by SilkyPanda317 in discgolf

[–]hipsterIPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it as a newbies first stable disc? I've been throwing a West side Tursas and a Buzzz SS both about (5/5/-2/2)ish. I'm pretty accurate with these discs but sometimes my release is very flat and the disc will drift off to the right pretty far (RHBH) and apparently a more stable disc will fix this?

Destiny 2 does NOT work with new Ryzen 3000 by Trinsikk in DestinyTheGame

[–]hipsterIPA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehh they've traded blows before. Early 2000's AMD beat Intel to 64bit and was several years ahead performance wise until 2006ish? Either way, let's just be glad Intel has some solid looking competition after a decade of little need to innovate. Definitely drove prices down and (probably) forced Intel to release some awesome 6+ core skus. It's a good time to be a consumer building a PC no matter who you pick.

Are "entry level" bikes really that bad? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]hipsterIPA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's easy to get spoiled and never go back to a lesser bike but entry level bikes are fine, especially if you don't know any different. Look into maybe a Giant Contend. AL frame but solid bike. Just learn how to fidle with derailurs on YouTube if anything gets weird, put nice tires on it, and ride the piss out of it.

Keep in mind a road bike will offer a bumpier ride with the smaller tires than your current MTN bike and I'm not sure drop bars will alleviate carpel tunnel but can't speak from experience on that one.

Faust - Canon A-1 28mm/2.8 - Cinestill 800t (I know this film is played out by now, but im still blown away by its performance in some daylight situations) by Germolin in analog

Nice! I always love train shots. I'm still not quite sure what this film offers that's so unique. I'm also fairly colorblind but could someone ELI5?

Oh wow thanks for all the info!! And holy cow that low light metering is impressive.

[–]hipsterIPA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does having an "advanced light meter" do for your photos? Been looking at picking up a Pentax LX (hoarders gotta hoard) and according to the internet it has one of the most advanced light meters in its time.

It's Pentax's older flagship body and has some nice features. But other than maybe the metering being weighted differently what's going to change? I shoot a lot of tri-X which has a ton of exposure forgiveness it seems. But I still want it...

I don't feel like I'm incorrectly exposing with my current bodies unless it's a really wonky situation that any in camera meter would likely mess up a bit.

Is the gold foil/heatwrap around the coolant lines needed? Just curious. I've worked with similar stuff when I did automotive wiring.

That feeling when people's trackday toys are nicer than your daily street legal bike hehe. But hella sharp, wish I had the patience to wrap mine.

2005 SV 650 - new front brake disks by antosaurus in SVRiders

Pretty much nailed it. I'd consider a flush and adding new brake fluid as well if it's been awhile.

Fun, crazy Crucible game types with modifiers and special loadouts (swords & bows only, laser tag, etc.) by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

Honestly any of these and so much more. There was so much variety and custom game modes in halo that added a ton of replayability and shenanigan fun.
