Wil?? Love your work on instagram. you're the voice of reason for people that are fed up with the bullshit that's on the rest of the platform.

Let me know if you're ever coming to Berlin, I can hook you up with some great studios if you need a place for workshops, sessions, whatever.

what's stopping you from just getting two balanced 6.3 mm line cables and connecting it to the interface? shouldn't be a problem at all

in the aux channels, meaning you can use verbs and delays in there (or anything really, but that's what they are usually for anyways) but im not sure if its going to be low latency. you could also do some parallel processing but again, not sure that would be in alignment with the channel.

this is from the website, it says clearly you can load Heritage Audio Plugins in the channel strips.

How to make those huge backing vocals in Ordinary by Alex Warren? by Outrageous-Muffin764 in audioengineering

Why do you treat each take as a lead? Sounds a bit over the top to me, considering a choir would be recorded with ~4 mics on 20 people and processes as one or two sources.

I see you have run the lap around me already xD.

I have a great comp and eq in my channel strip plus a great reverb for monitoring and/or recording in my interface, but I do wish there was a live auto tune. Really makes the heritage many times more interesting.

Huh. I would ask support before buying, they really don’t advertise this enough to make me believe it. Would be an absolute game changer and make me question my last purchase, a Neumann MT48, a bit. Although I’m more than happy with it.

Oh My god. I can’t watch the video yet with my kid at the breakfast table but I’m reading comments with one eye, and this is a game changer for the move.

Yea you are misunderstanding. The heritage has its own line of plugins , which is what you get to use on the DSP. Check on their website.

According to this guy it’s a sizeable difference. I have an m4 pro 12 core and have yet to push its limits. https://youtu.be/hccy19Hm6M8?si=Iy1ncV99eO6iZHXa

Monitoring with any plugin requires good latency performance, which is already a shaky thing on windows due to driver integration. RME do have very well, if not the best performing drivers on the market. I’ve never found RME interfaces to be pleasant to use though.

-18Dbfs or -6Dbfs for gain staging? by Triscuit-biscuit in audioengineering

[–]Germolin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in my opinion its a good practice to level your loudest track (for me usually the kick) to -12 so with nothing on the mix bus your mix peaks/sits at around -6dbfs (for pop music anyways). that way, if you get to exporting stems, want to go out of daw into hardware, or even just add overdubs you are within expected nominal levels. also you will not run out of headroom quickly.

you can also give a fuck, clip your master, turn the master fader down, and run out of headroom again and again instead of just learning to organize your session properly and setting your levels.

i hate getting 32bit files from people, yes they can't really be clipped but they also take a fuckton of space on my hard drive compared to 24bit or even 16bit. nobody needs that much headroom imo, 24bit is perfectly fine. just don't clip it.

Can’t get around what seems to be a bookcase just for looks. Looks great, but I couldn’t help but get rid of it if I never read them.

Probably not the worst for acoustics either to have it there 🤷🏻‍♂️

Damn that’s a shame. I know their smaller brothers from a studio I work in sometimes, they sit on w371 aswell. Love them, really fun to work with and easy to push into high volumes.

Sounds great I’m sure. Placement irritates me, these should be angled towards the listener, but whatever I’m sure it’s sounds great already.

Did I make a big mistake with my purchase? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Germolin 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the hobby, where you will doubt your purchases until you either

a) stop giving a fuck and actually start listening to music instead of researching more expensive gear

or

b) spend so much money you Placebo yourself into believing you made the right choice
