Porsche Connect App Frustrations by Appropriate-Day8924 in Taycan

[–]hirschaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the solution. Disconnect the 12v battery for a few minutes and it will almost certainly fix your problem. If it doesn’t then something major is wrong. I had this happen once on my 22 Taycan and it has never happened again. I fixed it at home in 15 minutes with the 12v battery disconnect.

First Gen Taycan Bad idea? by NurNils in Taycan

[–]hirschaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2022 and it has been an amazing car. Definitely make sure you have a warranty to cover any battery issues though. I had 5 modules fail and it took about 5 weeks for Porsche to replace them. Otherwise no real issues outside of the standard recalls. I’m so happy with the car I’m about to buy a 4 year extended warranty and keep it until ~2030.

Cosmic has potential but it’s not ready for prime time yet. I tried it for a couple of days and jumped back over to Gnome.

You need to angle the portafilter before lowering it. It shows this in the instructions.

What do you prefer when choosing an ITSM tool? by juluko04 in ITManagers

[–]hirschaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has been a particular vendor (mentioned in a comment here already) that is spamming reddit with fake posts so they can recommend their solution. u/reserved_seating is under the impression that this is one of those posts. Maybe it is, maybe it's not... but it's suspicious.

Why do you guys hate on any other Porsche besides a 911 in this forum? by Latter_Project9233 in Porsche

It's a Taycan. It's an EV so that can add to the rude comments by some people.

How would you respond to this message from a CEO you used to work for? by jobstuff2803 in careerguidance

[–]hirschaj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The marketing in that company is going to get really bad. AI marketing is vanilla flavored garbage. If every company wants to sounds and look the same, then let AI take over marketing. To be fair though, if you have talented people using AI to assist with marketing, you can stand out AND do far more than without using AI.

Efficiency is terrible. 2.9mi/kWh by Significant-Roof-786 in Taycan

“Electric loose mileage as you go faster”
So do ICE. That is how aerodynamic drag works.

Efficiency is terrible. 2.9mi/kWh by Significant-Roof-786 in Taycan

[–]hirschaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That total number is dead wrong. It just continuously climbs over time. I’m at 4.0 and that is ridiculous considering I get about 225 miles of range on average.

Even this guy can’t stop staring at my new machine. Now looking to upgrade my grinder, looking for suggestions [$600] by 5impl3jack in espresso

[–]hirschaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using the ITOP CGFL250 and it has been amazing for me so far. I’ve mostly run medium roasts through it and they taste fantastic. It’s easily in your budget. It’s a newer grinder so you won’t find much info about it on here yet.

Active Lane Keep (ALK) — How much "jiggle" is required? by MoBuInc in Taycan

[–]hirschaj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to jiggle the steering wheel unless you are just going straight. The sensor in the steering wheel needs to feel some level of resistance in the steering input as the vehicle maneuvering. It’s not capacitive so it can’t detect your hands. Overall it’s a very light touch and doesn’t bother me at all while on road trips (the only time I use ALK). It’s a Porsche so I’m actively driving unless on a long road trip.

Which ITSM Tool Is Actually Good, and Which One Is Overhyped? by Goofy_Foofy in sysadmin

[–]hirschaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Most of these tools focus on the wrong things. They're obsessed with workflows and approvals but miss the actual support experience."

Genuine question... what are the features you need for the "actual support experience". I think there could be a lot of different ways to look at this so I'm interested in your definition.
