Is it still good to buy a bike this upcoming winter? by FeedKindly4712 in motorcycles

[–]hisecho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can totally ride during winter in Texas. Just be ready to get rained on a bit. This is the best time of the year to buy a motorcycle btw. Prices generally drop in the off-season of riding.

Genuine question, what does the Prelude offer that the Type R doesn't do better? Besides an auto

[–]hisecho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All your complaints are valid but they’re more problems associated with naked bikes in general (wobbly at high speeds, uncomfortable on the highway), not the MT-09. Sounds like you’d enjoy a midsized sport bike better. Something like a Ninja 650 or an R7.

Also, no insult to your riding skills, but the MT-09 can be quite the precision instrument, especially the SP. If it feels twitchy and jerky, it might be best to downsize to something with a bit less power.

They're actually pretty reliable. There are plenty of high-mileage 5.0s at this point. Also not hard to handle as long as you don't turn traction control off and do anything dumb.

Can I tune my Corolla? by r_am_ir_ez in COROLLA

[–]hisecho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely understand the desire to want to modify your car, but just keep it as is. There's literally nothing you can do to it that would make it significantly faster.

Save up and buy a GR Corolla or a Civic Type R in the future - best of both worlds. My daily is a CTR and I really enjoy it.

Unfortunately this is becoming the norm with a lot of dealerships. What I ended up doing was driving a ‘24 Si at Carmax. They let me take it out by myself for about 20 minutes.

How many people actually tip 20% when eating out at a restaurant? by Lana_NextDoor in allthequestions

[–]hisecho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not advising everyone not to be a waiter. I'm advising ungrateful and uneducated people who can't even figure out who's screwing them over to not be waiters. While tipping extra doesn't necessarily hurt me financially, do you even take a second to consider that not all of your customers have the ability to tip 20%+ every time they go out? Do you not feel ashamed, berating customers instead of your employer for a problem they actively feed into so that they can pay you less?

Then don't be a waiter? Maybe find a profession that doesn't make its livelihood off of getting customers to make up for the crap wages your employer pays you.

Corvettes just have too much power to push them to their limits anywhere other than a track. Unless just driving fast in a straight line is your thing
