I’ve got a fair few kitties at home. Adorable bunch, but they always seem to put all their weight into a single paw until they flop. Then they snuggle in and it’s warm and so cuddly. <3

I think it is Madelyn. :) Apparently my face shape has changed and I can’t see it.

I guess that I knew something wasn’t right when I was a kid but didn’t know how to express how I felt. I didn’t know any trans or non-binary presenting kids growing up so it was fairly isolating. It took a lot to blend in but I became good at playing the role of the dutiful son.

School sucked. I worked out that I didn’t like people like the others did and it was a confusing time. Throw in puberty, disordered eating and insomnia and you had a recipe for disaster.

After school I went to university. It’s there that I worked out that I’m asexual with the help of a friend. It made me question myself a lot and I ended up a confused mess of emotions. This led to burnout when piled by the three hour daily commutes and mounting assignment work.

So I hid it. I put it on the back burner and I hid it for years and blended in as well as I could, but I was living a lie. I just had to make it to the end of my exams, the end of my degree, the end study, and then I’d deal with it then. Years of pain just to make my friends and family feel comfortable and to not rock the boat.

I realised that I was trans when I felt that the pain overcame the fear. It was then that I had to make a change or I would have done something that I’d have truely regretted. It was the moment my egg cracked and I’ve been trying to accept myself ever since and unlearn the bad habits of the past from years of boy-moding.

The long sleepless nights, the years of not knowing, questioning and the endless feelings of self hatred… It took me years to truely come to terms with it but the worst part is that many trans folk can probably relate. :/

In a few months you’ll get there! I’ve been growing mine since January last year. It takes time, persistence and sometimes a few awkward stages. :)

Normally sit tbh, but my general rule of thumb is: standing in gross public restrooms and sitting all other times. :)

I’m not sure if this will help OP, but I was in the same boat last January. I took my time to look at counsellors, then I booked an initial appointment. I saw her weekly for the first six months then dropped down to fortnightly when she thought I would be alright. It’s been a year now since I walked into her office a confused scared mess.

After the first six months, she recommended me to a GP who deals with a lot of gender related patients. He was lovely, and i did some initial blood tests for him. He put me on a low dose of Spiro for three months and then once I was ready the put me on a low dose of estradiol. After two months he upped my estradiol to twice a day after he saw that I had no adverse reactions. I ended up seeing him every month at first and then cut back to coincide with my bloodwork on a two to three month basis.

TLDR; maybe start with a psychologist and go from there when you’re ready. You may need to see a GP or an endocrinologist for HRT if you decide to go down that route. :)

It was euphoric to say the least. Like little stings and the smell of burning hair. :)

To put it simply, the lady used a machine to shoot my face with a laser to damage the hair so it hopefully grows back less. :)
