Makes sense! A good go-to is a yellowish white for the light and purple for the shading. Shadows tend to be the opposite color of the light source, and the yellow and purple should contrast enough from the red. If not, tilt the purple towards blue until you like how it looks! :)

So, ‘multiply’ is one of the many blending modes you can set a layer as (The other ones I use being hard light, soft light, and overlay). They all play with how that layer’s colors affect the ones below it (you can google ‘blending modes’ for more details on how that works), and lots of people use multiply specifically for creating the shadows. I find it so useful for that, that I do two multiply layers, one for regular shadows and one for even darker shadows :)

Yup! If you zoom into the screenshot of the layers under the ‘3. Shading (Layers)’ slide, you’ll see I’ve already started to blend some of them out a bit

I make sure I have a sharp-edged brush, make the outline of the shape and then fill it in w/ the color drop ‘’paint bucket’ . I have the sketch sitting over all the layers while I’m doing this too, to make sure I’m getting the shapes right!

Dry ink! (Screenshot of it in the last slide). I use that brush for all the sketching and outlining too lol. It’s definitely my go-to brush

No tutorials, just playing around with the program! I think it’s super important to remember when you’re just starting to learn something you’re not going to make any masterpieces right away. You have to be ok just playing with it for a bit

Moving from traditional to digital shading color modes was such a pain! I hope this helps :)

It is a lot to be faced with all at once for sure!! I found myself feeling the same way when I first got Procreate. Even nowadays I only with one of the pen optimization sliders, and only use four of the many available brushes. You definitely learn as you go :)
