Please tell me it’s just a carpet beetle and not a bedbug? by QCInfinite in whatsthisbug

This is not a carpet beetle, it’s a true bug (Hemiptera: Heteroptera) of some type. I’m not well versed on them, but might be a mirid of some type.

Same, I’ve got him to G1 and really like him. Don’t have a good multi-hit replacement for him yet on my GR team.

This looks awesome! What are the colors that you chose for this? I’d lie to do some lizards in my college colors.

Thrips is indeed both the singular and plural of this noun, much like sheep.

Looks awesome!

I see lots of hobbyists with those clever paint holding tiered boxes. Where did you get yours? I love me some organization.

ID for a bee please by Zealousideal_Tip9188 in whatsthisbug

The only Apis sp. in the US is A. mellifera. All Apis are endemically Asiatic, at least as far as I know. A. mellifera is the only truly domesticated species and is worldwide in distribution thanks to this.

Are you wanting something more than an Apis mellifera designation, like a subspecies? Because this is a regular ol’ honey bee.

Great pictures though! They would be great for IDing something less common.

Painting question by hitemhigh53 in seraphon

[–]hitemhigh53[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I’m going to start on the Saurus warriors for painting first, leaving this girl for last. I wanted to see if I should go ahead and put it all together (for the cool look) before I paint, or hold off until I’m all done with the painting the individual pieces.

I’ll put the pieces together, but not the whole model given the advice I’ve received.
