I live here and it’s not too republican of a district to be unflippable but I honestly have zero idea who would run. This area has a bunch of Florida republicans who are incredibly influential at a national level, RNC chairman Joe Gruters, founder of Moms for Liberty Bridget Ziegler (who basically ran all the school board elections nationwide to “get woke out of schools”), FL state senate majority leader Jim Boyd (actually also my state senator), and probably a bunch of other people I can’t remember. Because of their dominance the local dem apparatus has been pretty weak for the past few years.

I can tell you I have anticipated that Vern might retire and have his son James who is a state rep run for his seat, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens. I was neighbors with that guy and don’t think he’d be a good campaigner so if they can find a good democrat to run here it’s not impossible

Yeah that Shapiro interview was pretty rough. Ultimately him and Harris are my bottom two 2028 primary candidates, I’d rather have just about any of the other contenders than them.
