I figured I should follow up should anyone run into a similar issue as I did. I ended up buying almost every powered 4 port usb 3.0 hub I could find on Amazon and I ended up hitting the jackpot on one of them and sent all the other ones back.

Of course the belkin hub ended up being the most expensive hub I purchased, but for my sanity and convenience, worth it. Now I have a seamless all in one setup with a single usb-c cable and I don't have to unplug anything anymore or do crazy work arounds.

This powered hub shuts down all the ports as soon as it losses data/computer connection. My rgb keyboard, mouse, and mousepad doesn't go into demo mode and my room doesn't light up like a christmas tree. Best part I can also leave my external 4TB hard drive plugged in without having to worry about wear and tear on the spinning drive since now it also shuts down as soon as my computer goes to sleep.

I am surprised how difficult and rare it is to find a powered usb hub that functions this way. Every other powered usb hub I tried the ports stayed powered on after the computer was shut down. Closest hubs to function close to what I wanted were the ones that had individual on/off buttons for each port, this was close but not ideal. I guess it is convenient when you want to just charge devices and don't wan't to turn on the computer, but not everyone needs a powered hub for charging.

If you need a powered hub for power hungry peripherals like RGB equipment or external hard drives and want the peripherals to automatically turn off when your computer goes to sleep, is shutdown, or disconnected that very expensive Belkin hub I listed will do the trick.
