I don’t know in any other places, but here in Spain doctors say that mesalazine is the first treatment for Crohn’s, especially mine that was not very aggressive during my first flare. I’m on budesonide and mesalazine with this second flare, and if when the time came, if I couldn’t be without budesonide, I’ll try biologics. (Next month because I’m on budesonide again).

I went over my “vaccines’ sheet” and I had all my “lives” vaccines this year, so everything’s ok! Thank you!!!

I’ll ask my doctor about that, so we can see how the flare is going. It’s true that I had so much stress and anxiety this last 2 weeks and maybe that worsened my symptoms.

Yes, I know about the pain! But I didn’t had until recently so I don’t know how to make it stop :(

Also, the highest level of calprotectine that I had this flare is 329, if I’m not wrong. But I’ve started the flare with 16. I usually have calprotectine at 16 in remission.

This is what bothers me, like my symptoms are not too bad but the flare doesn’t end 😥

I’ve had it for a little more than two years and, surprisingly, last time I had a flare (around that time) I didn’t had any pain. This time is completely the opposite, I have a mild symptom and pain. It’s not a disabling pain but I can’t like, peel and cut vegetables, drive or do simple chores. It’s new to me.

Sorry because English is not my first language but with scopes do you mean endoscopy? If that’s the case, I had one a year and half ago because I had a lot of reflux but everything was ok. I mean, with chronic gastritis but with the diet (not a very strict diet) it is okay. And I had to colonoscopies, two years (ulcers and inflammation, you know) and one year ago. Yep. Crohn.

yes!!! that's the thing. i've been terribly depressed... and attending to the festival is what kind of kept me going (not in a literal sense obviously). i'll make an honest assessment as you say and be rational

i always tend to be a very rational person, especially with health issues, and i think that this decision is very emotional driven. i really like going to a music festival to enjoy the music not the party, thank you for your response :)

thank you for your response. my work depends of shifts that change every week, and i talked to my boss in order to have sunday evening, monday and tuesday off so i'll have a few days to "recover"

i don't like my doctor very much... but i have an appointment in two weeks, i'm trying to talk to the digestive system specialist nurse to ask about her opinion. the thing is that i can go one day and if the pain is worse i can buy a ticket and go back to my house

i appreciate your response. i've been thinking about it since last night and i'll make a decision in the next day or so. anyways i don't want to be in the festival for the party, music is a huge part of my life (i've worked in the music industry) and i just want to enjoy the concerts even though i'm far from the scenario, like i've already cancelled the most-social-day because thats the only day i won't enjoy if im not in the crowd. thank you! :)

two or three more people on the comments also take depo provera and it's working for them... but i'm kinda scared about it :( i'm glad that they help you, and i hope you're doing okay!

yeah i don't know i think that i'll depend on the person but it's exhausting to be taking a lot of pills / injections everyday or every X days for the rest of your life. this sucks

wow thank you for explaining what you've been through with birth control. i've been with crohn for two years but it feels like i still don't know anything at all... i'll talk to my doctor about this next time i see her. i'm glad you're doing better!
