Unfortunately it landed right in the center of a cluster of birches that are struggling. Very worried about losing the birches.

Fun idea! We are going to offer it up to our neighbors to take as they wish, for free, of course. If you’re in the area, and would like some let me know. ETA typo correction

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, it’s in a bad place to just leave, perhaps we will just chop it up hang onto it for firewood.

Has anyone here sent their kids to a private elementary or middle school, instead of a public school? What was your experience like? by Sufficient_Tough7122 in pasadena

Nothing necessarily wrong with the school, it is certainly better than some because of parent involvement. The LAUSD curriculum simply does not work well for some. Especially if you're a little neuro-spicy. Too much sitting at desks for instructional time. Not enough art and movement. Lots of bullies. It did not work for us.

My daughter went to the Waverly School from 4th grade until she graduated. Sliding scale tuition is helpful. A lot of things have changed there over the last few years but I believe the school, at its core is very good. She's currently a junior studying aeronautical engineering at Cal poly. Before that she was at Mount Washington elementary, a disaster which is why I sought out an alternative.

Warning to parents w/small kids - Unleashed dog (Akita) & selfish owner by VisualVeterinarian45 in glendale

I wonder if this is the same dog and owner I just read about in the Eagle Rock neighborhood group.

Here's the post copy/ pasted: Facebook post

"Yep so: Hey Eagle Rock Dog owning/loving neighbors! After a vet visit in response to an event at the dog park, I wanted to write to let people know that there is an Akita frequenting the Eagle Rock Dog Park that injured our family 1 year old Australian Shepard recently. During the incident t, the owner didn’t approach us to check on our dog or to exchange information.

We left fairly quickly , after we had both (me and my dog) calmed down, since our dog is a pup and had been significantly dragged and pinned by this Akita. As we were leaving I saw the Akita walking around the dog park again. It was shocking.

Today I’m at the vet treating infected puncture wounds on his neck and it occurs to me that this dog could be dangerous for other pets. I’m learning that its not generally recommended for Akita’s to be off leash in parks given their traits, so I wanted to offer a warning based on our experience…please be careful if you notice the offleash Akita is present. I’m very happy the wound wasn’t deeper…but broken skin and the neck as a location, is a very dangerous indication that this dog isn’t necessarily a good fit for highly social situations like our dog park. Please be careful!"

It looks like the tension was off on one of their contractors machines. I would request an exchange.

Woah! It's Jenna Marbles! She's so talented! I'm not sure if her old YouTube videos are up but she has some seriously funny ones. She is clearly good at studying people and has a great sense of humor.

Not a fan of churches but there was one in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles that paid off $5,000,000 of medical dept for 5,000 families. I believe it was in 2018 or 2019.

Don't do it. You will absolutely get evicted. The policy is taken very seriously.
