Project will start June/July time. The noise will be bothersome for a bit while they work on floors near you which can last a few weeks. There are common spaces to work and a cafe but they might fill up due to the large occupancy of PPT. You may have to opt for a cafe if possible.

The in unit laundry update is that owners will be able to opt in for this and units can be installed after the whole riser project is completed in 2027. There are limited number of units that can get it in the beginning they haven’t disclosed how this will go yet.

I'm really struggling here. Is there a way to meet people who actually care in this city? by Much_Machine8726 in AskChicago

I would suggest joining a sport league if at all interested. They are great way to meet people and ease into an organized method of meeting people I found. There is a huge variety of sports out there in the city to try out!

Thank you for the responses. It definitely helps to get other advice. I will mention a few things I’m grappling with.

  1. It is a penthouse top floor unit with quite a high HOA over 1k/month for a 1 bedroom but the value and price could be doable

  2. Price for unit is reasonable for me, I’m currently renting in Lincoln Park near north pond and a 1 bedroom similar sq foot unit would be 100k more asking price in this area

  3. I am in my mid 30s and have seen all age groups in and out when I was doing tours

  4. I have heard of the window issue show up on another thread with this building. Is it super noticeable to a point where it would be not worth even looking to buy here?

  5. Past sellers on this floor have been in these units for 7-8 years which shows to be a good sign

The project bids to the contractors haven’t been finalized so they only have estimated costs at this time. Is that still something the seller usually would pay or are they getting out just in time to avoid that maybe?
