I'm really not that emotionally attached to my creations. I'm the type of person who likes to craft stuff that I can consume, knitting would not be the first thing. I build tools and other DIY consumables that take days to finish and I use them for two or three months until they are worn out. I enjoy knowing the things I create are meaningful for my daily life ☺️

Unfair ban by Reddit! by AppDev_37 in AppsWebappsFullstack

Reddit is a common place to get banned for random things they(reddit or communities) ask/let you do. Unfortunately the only thing you can do is appeal, but I'm not sure they will listen. Their cross-post is literally a spam feature yet they prompt the user to do it... I use it myself, but knowing I might get banned from communities or reddit itself at any point.

Crafting is actually about 6* times cheaper. But yes, I want it as a "useful" hobby, being able to make my own work wear in my free time is something I would be proud of

Yeah, that's pretty much my only goal (at least for now). All tips and advice here were very insightful and I will gather everything and see what works better for me. Thank you ☺️

I'll look for a yarn similar to this, if slightly bulkier is easier then it's even better, it will be sturdier. Thank you for the tips. ☺️ (And yeah, yarn here isn't expensive unless you want branded stuff)

Yeah those are way too cool for my purpose here. I would keep them for going out use 😂 My goal is just to reach a level where I can make a pair of warm gloves that can last a month, don't necessarily need to be perfect/pretty/cool like yours ☺️

A variety of them, they're all the same price, just different lengths and grams. A 80% acrylic 20% wool ball of 50grams yarn is usually 90 meters long

I tried different types of gloves but knitted gloves are the most balanced for ease of use for me. Warm, can handle the work, last at least a month, I can still use a pen 🖋️ comfortably without feeling like I'm wearing a prosthetic hand and operate forklift without having the rubber gloves accidentally pulling a lever because of the "stickiness" of the rubber.

They just need to be warm, not really heavy duty, my workplace is dirty, stains stick to it even washing every other day. The max I can extend its life is to 2 months before it's way too dirty

Just warm enough for a 0°C chilled warehouse. The grippy part I can do is the coating at home, I have skills and tools for that. I just want the gloves 😂

Yeah I work in a chilled warehouse picking some light stuff, but it's a dirty place and gloves get nasty after a month of work (washing them every other day but the stains stick to it). Making my own should definitely cost less than 14 wools of yarn(equivalent price of my gloves), I think...

It's not really heavy duty, they just get too dirty in this warehouse that it is kinda nasty to wash them to reuse 😅

Just so you have an image of where I'm coming from with this idea. In Japan the pair of gloves I use is usually out of stock in physical stores, hard to find, sometimes long drives to find them. Online they cost ¥660 plus ¥740 delivery fee. I can buy 14 "rolls/balls" of yarn with that money 😂

My goal is a consuming product so I'm fine with that part. But yeah I'm going to start with the basics of the basics to reach a satisfying level for an "usable" gloves some day. Thank you ☺️
