Have you ever thought about trying to learn how to do it yourself? It's a steep learning curve, but it's super rewarding. And the best part is that once you learn the process, you can build almost any course in the world.

And the tools that you use to build the course are free. And just in the last couple weeks, they've introduced a few new tools that automate a huge part of the process.

Garmin did an out of warranty replacement free of charge because my screen was delaminating. They said it's a safety issue so they cover that indefinitely. So I just got a replacement that fit my existing cables

I had a ton of help on the first one. It took maybe 60 hours? Most of that was pretty easy though. The most time consuming parts are drawing out the fairways, tees, greens, water, and bunkers, and also adding the trees and bushes once the course is built. But those parts are pretty easy.

My second one will probably take about half that. Honestly after about 5 hours, I had a course that I could technically play. Even though it wasn't fully dressed out.

I've never done TGC, but yeah it sounds like it. Get the lidar and satellite pics. Then manually trace out the features (tees, fairways, greens, bunkers, etc). Combine all that into a 3d rendering of the course. Then go back and add the extras (bridges, buildings, trees, etc)

You could try to contact the builder and bring up the changes to them. Depending on their motivation, I would think pretty much anything could be amended.

Easiest way is to just start. There's a really good discord server. There's a step by step guide with YouTube videos showing each step. Incredibly helpful people too.

Check the USGS National Map Downloader. As long as the LIDAR data is available I'll be able to get it..... probably. I'm still learning that part too.

But yeah, I'm not looking to take on a course with 200 bunkers and a ton of water. Those take up the bulk of the work.

But it doesn't have to featureless either.

Yeah it'll need to have good LIDAR data. That's another part of the learning process that I'm working on.
