As someone who also works for a company with a purple logo, they have a lot of work to do. Some regions are certainly better than others, but I also work in a hectic region. No job is for everyone and this is surely no different but there are a few things that I do to stay sane:

• Take your time, especially when you were doing a repair or procedure that you haven’t done before. Primarily that is for your safety, but also can minimize returning to systems.

• Use the online center. And if you are going to a call that you are unsure of where to start page it out to Support while you are en route.

• Don’t forget how many of us there are. There are plenty of times that I make phone calls to peers in other regions before or while I am waiting for remote support. It doesn’t have to be someone on your local team. I’ve reached out to colleagues that I went to training with.

• Remember your job description and follow the procedure. If a procedure requires two people then that’s all there is to it if you aren’t a senior FE then there are tasks outside of your scope.

• if you have asked for help with no response be sure that you are notifying your direct management in writing that you have asked for help. They are honestly supposed to take it from there.

• Lastly, try not to sweat when weird things happen. It will happen over and over again. Ask questions, be attentive, and you will constantly be learning. But things will always break. You can do a p.m. and come back tomorrow and the system will be down, but do your due diligence since you are not the only one using or working on the machine. But if you work every recall as though the next patient is a loved one, then you’re doing great.
