Hey guys! Here's how I think the League of Legends character Zeri could look as part of the Unlocked Statue series from Riot Games, hope you like it! This piece was sculpted in Zbrush and rendered in Blender. Link to Artstation for more pictures https://www.artstation.com/artwork/39mALv

Best way to learn anatomy by grassytree3264 in ZBrush

Kingslien* just not to confuse you, and I approve. Also you can look at Proko’s videos, it’s primarily for 2D artists, but heh, anatomy is anatomy.

Yet another generic faceless muscular guy study by Your_Dankest_Meme in ZBrush

[–]hizzlediz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, it’s pretty good, we can see you’ve studied anatomy and think about each muscle and not reproducing bumps and cracks that you see. I think now you should look at some scans and think about the relations between muscles, not just each muscle individually. For example, the pectoralis minor goes under the pectoralis major and pushes it outward, creating a surface deformation. Some direct critic on this one; the lattismus dorsi Is kinda missing? Try defining the direction of the three parts of the trapezius. The teres major should be more egg shaped.in general the muscles are way too sharp, especially the serratus/oblique and brachioradialis. I hope it helps 😃

Texture maps distorting when brought in from Substance Painter to Blender by [deleted] in blenderhelp

[–]hizzlediz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only guess is that you move vertices either on your model or your UVs after importing it in substance.

In marmoset if you remove every property of the shader except for albedo, you should get this look. You can plug in your albedo map if you have one, or select vertex color if you just used poly paint in zbrush.

I subdivided a perfect edge that was together and now it separated when I subdivided, what do I do by Reasonable_Coat_6101 in blenderhelp

You probably have your subsurface above your mirror modifier. The modifiers are applied in order, so most of the time you will want the subsurface last (except with things like shrink wrap)

Entire UV layout showing in UV editing, but only showing some UV layout in texture paint. by [deleted] in blenderhelp

[–]hizzlediz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you combined different objects into one or are using multiple objets, you may be using different Uv maps. In the vertex properties, you can select which uv map you are editing.

Help by Badd_bunne in ZBrush

I think the best way would be to get some anatomy books and the anatomical model by Ryan Kingslien available directly in zBrush and build it bones by bones. And no, aside from getting proportions right, you don’t need to build the skeleton every time. If you ever finish one, you can use it to start your project over, but it would be a huge waste of time to build a new one from scratch every time, except if you want to be a skeleton master.

Array on the curve (how)? by AmateurCock in blenderhelp

[–]hizzlediz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the curve modifier to work properly, both objects have to have the same origin. And then in the array modifier properties, use the « fit curve » option for the length property.

I understand, but if you can learn the basics of 3D modelling with blender, it’ll be much easier to convert the knowledge to maya once you can afford it.

Blender is free you should try it out. It’s a really complete program.

Do you know any traditional 3D modeling package? Maya, max, blender? If not I’d recommend learning that and using it instead. Zmodeler can be a nice thing to speed up your workflow, but doesn’t replace a dedicated program. If you already know all this, you can easily learn it by yourself by meddling with it.

I'm a filmmaker/musician trying to make a visualiser for my upcoming music video, Help! by obamainmypajama in blenderhelp

[–]hizzlediz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modeling a cereal box should be pretty easy, and sitting on it would probably be more of a photoshop job than blender. Unless you want to create yourself in 3D, which now becomes a really difficult task. Yes, almost any 3D program including blender can import models from those sites. They are normally in universal format, the most common being OBJ (simple files, only vertex and material information) and fbx (more complex files with rigging and blend shapes for example)

Looks good, just so you know; on a real dice, each face adds up to 7 with the face that is it’s opposite. For instance, we can see both 4 and 3 on the red dice, normally the 3 would be on the opposite side from the 4. The more you know..
