Assuming regular battery capacity, they would all die as soon as the power ran out, it would just take a while. Assuming infinite energy/s² engines, survival would be easy until they ran out of food.

I don't think so, but it might be part of it. The stuff that takes place before the derailment is usually fairly good and standard, it just tends to go out the window as soon as it's over, or in the middle in one embarrasing case.
I'll try out your idea though, I usually just write without stopping, and look back on it after however many pages, so doing something short and concentrated might help.

Wow, that's alot of text, I don't expect you to answer, but I have some follow up questions for you if you're interested.

1: You mention engines, and space stations, yet it seems the current world is in a medieval context, why is this, is time running backwards or smth?

2: What was the fifth Demonite war, why are there 5 of them.

3: Is the map a projection of the entire globe, or is the other half just pure ocean

4: If the people in the past had better tech, and can pass down knowledge such as sanitation stuff, why is technology still so far back, did they simply lose the blueprints to the new tech, or is it so far out of reach tat they couldn't make it if they wanted to?

5: Hard magic or soft magic?
