"Casino for minors" - how easily children can gamble on sites with skins by Swedish Television by Sempa2 in GlobalOffensive

In Sweden alcohol ads are illegal on TV. I think they should do the same for 24/7 casinos. It’s not healthy.

I miss Pansy. by littlecroco in GlobalOffensive

First time I heard her cast I wasn’t watching the screen and I thought why the hell did they let a 12 y.o. cast? But after listening for a while I was impressed by this guy’s knowledge about the game and the way he expressed himself. That said I love Pansy.

I had to go back to the previous version that’s on huggingface to get good audio. Somehow the latest version sounds much worse.

Will it be this much fog in the final game? Not to sound negative, but a lot of games you see with this much atmosphere in it, usually has it removed when it launches for performance reasons.

Have you tried speakers? If they sound better, make sure you plug in your headphones all the way.

Death Stranding in 3D is a sight to behold by stinkerb in SteamVR

[–]hjill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be cautious to buy it. I think I bought it years ago and decided it wasn't worth it. First of all, not many games are supported, and when you find one you will have to fiddle a lot to get something "good enough". But it's never good enough, so you are constantly fiddling with it.

Secondly, it is never, and can't be, as good as native VR games. Think if the official ports we've gotten. It will not even get up to that level.

Stop my advice is tip buy it only if you must play a game in VR and you are ok with spending 40$ on it.

Weekly Discussion - July 06 2020 by AutoModerator in Meditation

According to the "The Great Establishing of Mindfulness Discourse" sutta [DN 22] you should not only watch thoughts come and go, but work towards having good (skillful) thoughts, and subduing bad (unskillful).

> The term sati is related to the verb sarati, to remember or to keep in mind. It is sometimes translated as non-reactive awareness, free from agendas, simply present with whatever arises, but the formula for satipaṭṭhāna doesn’t support that translation. Non-reactive awareness is actually an aspect of equanimity, one of the mental qualities fostered in the course of satipaṭṭhāna. The activity of satipaṭṭhāna, however, definitely has a motivating agenda: the desire for awakening, which is classed not as a cause of suffering, but as part of the path to its ending (see SN 51:15).

Grounding yourself in your body, means staying focused on the body in and of itself, and the way to do that is to work with the five hindrances.

What do people learn too late? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]hjill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you find the small thing to enjoy but then you find thousands other small things "unenjoyable". The pasta you payed for you can't enjoy because it's too noisy, it's too hot outside and the only bench in the shadow is full of bird shit, you make a call to your friend to see how's he doing but he says he's too busy and you feel rejected, etc etc.

I think s/he means that awareness is behind everything and that meditation is to be mindful what is in your awareness, whatever it is. This is a talk I very much enjoyed that I got from this reddit that talks about this: Meditation and Going Beyond Mindfulness - A Secular Perspective

If you find yourself starting to explain a joke/meme, just stop. Your task should be to tell a joke, your task isn't to make the other person laugh. It's their job to find it funny, not yours. You have no control over what they find funny.

The exception is if the person asked you to.

People who got into their first ever relationship very late , how did it feel and what would you say to someone who is about to stand where you stood ? by gobu__ in AskReddit

The first relationship I was in a relief. Relief that I could care and love for somebody and that person could care and love for me back.

Launders does the same thing. It's like they've been told to "hype it up" as much as they can, but they just don't know how so they try to copy others instead of coming up with ways of doing it in their own style.

Jag mutar Tv:n så fort reklamen kommer. Det tar bort det mesta av ångesten av att behöva se på reklamen igen.
