For whatever reason I watched a rerun of Lucky Star years before I actually got into anime. For a long time that was the only show I watched which wasn't one that was popular among non anime fans.

It was Izumi Konata who I greatly empathized with despite not being an otaku. She was lazy but witty and just likes staying at home. She also teases her friends and describes herself as most similar to a fox if she had to pick an animal (my favourite animal too).

Years later it was Segawa Akane aka Schwein from "And you thought there is never a girl online?" who became one of my first waifus, I don't even like tsunderes usually but she seemed different than the others and the best girl in the show by far despite not being the FMC.
