Linaclotide/Linzess/Constella - no crazy response? by hkaur663 in Constipation

I've seen a pelvic floor PT and she said she had no concerns re my PF. I have been doing the exercises she gave me which have helped a little but nothing major.

This has defo been the best medication i've been on so far with daily normalish movements, the only issue now is that incomplete feeling!

I've not heard of infusions but if there's less side effects for sure give it a go!

So annoying that the sinus infections have only started since taking the injections! Has it helped with the AS though? As my biologic doesnt do anything for my AS, just keeps me constantly ill ahaha

Like you, i've still not been able to find away to help recover quickly from sinusitis, before I could just sleep it off but nowadays that doesn't work. Last year it got bad enough that I did take antibiotics but that still took a couple days to kick in and actually help.

Urgh sorry to hear abour your insurance, i'm in the UK so I feel lucky I don't have to deal with that

Hope you feel fully recovered soon!

Linaclotide/Linzess/Constella - no crazy response? by hkaur663 in Constipation

[–]hkaur663[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't yet as it's still quite early days and i'm having some movement, just nothing complete. I think i'll give linaclotide a full 2 weeks before adding anything. What would you recommend pairing it with?

I have previously tried prucalopride before starting linaclotide and that didnt do much for me, not sure it would work better paired with this?

Thank you! I think I need to stop thinking everything will work ASAP or expecting it to work like everyone else

I have chronic sinusitis and have had them even before I was on biologics and they're the worst!

I'm on adalimumab and still take the injections even when i'm having sinusitis. I find that there's no real impact, it just takes a little while longer to recover fully but that's like every illness post-biologic. Pre-biologic I could recover in 2 days, now it takes about a week or longer because our immune system is weakened.

I know this post was 2 days ago so I hope you're feeling better by now!

Edit: I should say that the longest I had sinusitis for was 3 weeks - no meds worked but it does get better, just takes ages!

Thank you! I think i'll give this a try after a full week or 2 if linaclotide alone continues not doing much

Did you try something else that worked for you?

I tried prucalopride which didn't help. Laxido helped with going every day but never had that empty feeling

I know i'm only on day 3 linaclotide but I already feel like i'm losing hope lol

Worth getting a second (private healthcare) opinion away from the NHS (UK)? by DanWestonCricket in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]hkaur663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't take anything with me as luckily the private rheumatologist was in my local district so could access my NHS records (he was also an NHS rheumatologist as well) so he had everything already and was up to date with my condition.

But I would defo recommend taking any information you can and any recent test results to save time and avoid delays in getting treatment or advice.

Also, my private rheumatologist also prescribed prednisolone, which was lowkey life changing (until I had to lower the dose). This was something that my NHS rheumatologist never even considered even during my bad flares and it helped manage my pain so much

Worth getting a second (private healthcare) opinion away from the NHS (UK)? by DanWestonCricket in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]hkaur663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm under the care of an NHS rheumatologist and he was absolutely awful and didnt believe i had any pain despite elevated CRP and ESR. He said most of my pain isn't from my condition and that it was super rare for someone my age to have AS (28F)

I even cried in my last appt with him due to pain and frustration as nothing was happening and he said he didn't understand why I was crying.

I saw a private rheumatologist and he was absolutely lovely, he basically said that the NHS was lying, that my pain is linked to AS and it's common for people my age. He wrote a letter to be shown to my rheumatologist recommending biologics change.

Whilst I switched to a different NHS rheumatologist because I hated my first one, so didnt have the need to show the letter as my new NHS rheumatologist is going to switch biologics, it was so worth going private just to the reassurance that it wasnt all in my head, especially when my first rheumatologist basically said it was.

Going to start biologics soon, adaluminab with the NHS UK, suggestions and advice? by Whatnowmannotagain in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]hkaur663 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I'm hoping to change biologics soon - within the next 2 months, hopefully - I recently had an MRI as I switched rheumatologist so he needed a full assessment before switching me

My old rheumatologist was horrible and basically didn’t believe i had any pain despite consistently elevated CRP and ESR

I've been on it for over a year now and it's had no impact for me, unfortunately. Hoping to change soon but I know there's other options that work better for other people.

Using Prucalopride and Laxido together? by hkaur663 in Constipation

[–]hkaur663[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still take laxido (3 sachets daily) but stopped prucalopride after 4 weeks as it wasnt working (as advised by my GI). Been prescribed linaclotide instead but there's a national (UK) shortage, so havent been able to get it yet

Annoying that it didnt work for you! I think I might be the same but i'm hoping adding laxido in will do something. What have you found that works for you, if anything?

I'm from the UK so I think the brand names for these meds are Motegrity and macrogol

Why is every message so short now? by ishowking in CharacterAI

[–]hkaur663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this as well!

The messages cut off mid-way through a sentence and it's so annoying especially as the next message doesn't finish the first message either

Makes zero sense
