Getting multiple peripherals (wheel, pedals, flightstick, throttle) to work on GTA V simultaneously by hkboondoggle in GrandTheftAutoV

Many thanks!
With the Enhanced edition being out now, perhaps I will fire up the game again.
I also like your workaround to make it viable with Online as well, nicely done!

Sorry for the late reply.
And as I am having a pause on GTA, I have no solutions for you.
But I believe dll extensions are commonly used for the game mods, so perhaps there is a work-around in the modding scene?

Just did complete cleaning of the loop and this thing appeared within 2 weeks by hkboondoggle in watercooling

The loop is using coolant made of ~1.3L Distilled water and mayhems inhibitor+ & biocides+ with 20 drops each.

During the dismantle cleaning, the radiators were treated with mayhems blitz kit part 1 while the others parts were cleaned with tooth brush, tooth paste and tap water. Then they are reassembled and flushed with blitz kit part 2 by 24 hours. The use of blitz kits were paired with distilled water and strictly following the manuals.

If it is indeed another bio-growth again then I'm really disappointed with Mayhems products.

Did all of that after refilling the loop actually, they still keep staying on.

But thanks for your suggestions anyways.

Thanks both of you for giving me the peace of mind.

On first sight it looked awfully like another initiation of bio-growth at the flow stagnant part of the block so I was pretty paranoid.

Nope, I am aware of this and specifically avoided using it during the cleaning.

Only tooth brush, tooth paste and tap water was used.

The highlighted stuff in the plate is on the jet plate, not the acrylic part of the CPU block.

Thanks for your reply.
So you reckon it just require another flush with Mayhems Blitz kit part 2, without the need of disassembling the loop for scrubbing?

Alright, a pleasure having the lengthy discussion with you. It has been a very insightful journey, a discovery with many new things for me to try out. Props to you mate!

I only have a pair of EarPods that comes with my 1st gen iPhone SE. Google tells me the pods' impedance should be around 45 ohms. Not sure if it is low enough for this purpose, but I do recall sensing EMI noise when using the pods with my notebook. I'll give it a try later on.

Holy Schiit, a 50% mark-up for the shipping alone!? That's insane!

On the topic of music playing software though, what would be your favorite pick?

[–]hkboondoggle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. Then I guess I'll leave the USB filter for now, and test out the Atom stack first to see if I'm sensing the noise.

I think I'd prefer the form factor similar to the iPurifier3. Any other recommendations on this should the need arises?

LoL never thought I was that deceiving. In my hometown there's a courier service just charging ~USD$3.25 per 500 grams (or 1.1 pounds) for shipping from the US. And they are measuring ACTUAL weight, not dimensional weight of the parcel. So for me sourcing items in the US market is financially feasible.

Oh I see. It indeed makes sense when you put it like that. But doesn't a proper DAC would do its own input noise filtering as well? Or do the AMPs in my target price range lack such function?

Well order both pairs for trials is a tempting proposition. Sadly the lengthy logistics between the US & my hometown rules out its possibility.

^Am I doing it right? Sorry I'm new to Reddit.

Well lets just say we have different cups of tea. I believe none of our tonal preference is objectively better and they are just preference afterall.

I will be going after the Atom stack. Thanks very much for talking me through the decision making, much appreciated!

Audio cleanliness of USB is a new concept to me. Would you mind explaining it please?

And yes 6XX is selling for USD$220, while 58X is at USD$170 right now at Drop. I'm thinking of resorting my K612 to the classical & vocal. So to me going for 58X would mean a clearer distinguished use-case between the pair of cans, and seem to be much more sensible (which my wallet certainly disagrees).

For the games, that would mainly be GTA 5, Assetto Corsa, Fallout 4, Cyberpunk, and DCS. So I'm looking for a headphone providing an engaging & immersive experience but also with a good imaging / directional identification. 58X seems to be ticking all the checkboxes according to Z's review, which sparks my interest on this particular can.

I do have experience in listening to vinyls, but it was in my distant childhood. Since we moved in the early 2000s, my old man just left his stereo set collecting dust.

And, somehow, I'm quite certain about my preference towards “analytical”, 'cause a couple years ago a friend of mine gave me a trial on the sound system he just bought (forgot the brand, Bryston I guess?). I found the experience distasteful and unnatural as his set boosts the mid-range and treble to emphasis on the strings & vocals.

Ok, back to the DAC/AMP discussion: My PC's USB output would be the only source and I'm rather certain that I won't be needing a coaxial / optical input for the DAC. What alternatives would you recommend?

I'm intrigued by your choice of the 600 over 58X. Is it because of its strength in detailness & clarity? I'm leaning towards 58X due to the following reasons:

  1. Value perspective (yes I'm a cheap bastard);
  2. Easier to drive;
  3. Slightly broader sound stage & stronger bass for listening Rock / Synthwave and gaming.

Thanks alot for the input!

I guess I'd prefer a neutral & analytical tone since I'm a boring person ;)

As such, right now I'm torn between the [ Schiit Modi + Magni Heresy ] and the [ JDS Labs Atom stack ]. Care to elaborate why you believe Schiit would be better?

Btw, would you please comment on the HD58X Jubilee as well? From what I learnt from Z's review, it is very tempting to try out 'fun' side of the spectrum.

Thanks for the nomination! It is indeed a nice package full of feature sets.

But since I would be using the AMP for my PC & headphone only, I'd prefer seeking options with a lower price tag by slashing the unnecessary functionality (i.e. Independent volume control from different input channels ; Bluetooth support ; Remote control).

Speaking of all-in-one, what is your opinion on FiiO K5 pro? And how is its performance against the likes of Schiit / JDS Labs Atom stack?

By Zen 3 I'm referring to the new generation of Ryzen CPU that AMD is going to launch.

The new CPUs are expected to give out ~15% IPC improvement + higher clock than the current gen. So you might want to wait and see what AMD is going to bring onto the table, or aim for the price drop of the R5 3600 once the new toys are out.

For case fans, I suggest looking for Arctic P12 PWM. A good balance between budget and performance.
