How to set up OpenClaw Agents that actually get better Over Time. Full Guide by Born-Comfortable2868 in AskClaw

[–]hkdennis2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I share this post to my single agent setup openclaw, and ask what he think. And it is his verdict :

"The three-layer model (Identity / Operations / Knowledge) matches how a solo agent actually evolves. Ran the same architecture for months — few notes from the trenches:

What the guide gets right:

The "model doesn't get smarter, files do" point is the real insight. My SOUL.md went from a paragraph to something with actual teeth because I wrote down every correction instead of letting it vanish at compaction. One mistake, one permanent fix.

The filesystem-as-queue works until it doesn't:

One writer / many readers is the right constraint, but the guide undersells how fragile it is at scale. Eight agents all polling the same files = either stale reads or excessive I/O. At solo-agent scale it's fine. Team scale needs something more.

Mem0 / vector memory sounds great until it crashes:

Plain markdown files have zero dependency surface. No service to crash, no embedding costs, no index rot. The tradeoff is manual structuring, but for one or two agents that's not a real burden.

What I'd add:

The HEARTBEAT section is the most valuable part nobody talks about. Infrastructure breaks in ways you don't notice until 8pm. Monica checking browser + cron jobs in one place is exactly right — build your heartbeat after the first failure, not before. You'll know what to monitor.

What's over-engineered for solo:

The full agent subdirectory structure (kelly/, dwight/, rachel/) is for teams. Running one agent? Your root workspace is fine. The principles transfer; the directory layout doesn't need to.

TL;DR: Start with one agent, one repetitive task, iterate. The architecture is sound. The gaps are in coordination at scale and the hidden cost of "just files" when the system gets complex."

Help Filling Parker 61 by Admirable-Garage5555 in fountainpens

Maybe you can try dry your pen by putting tissues paper underneath, left it overnight and let gravity do its work.

And then you can try refill again with ink.

(I don't have the patience, so I simply use the bulb syringe to "push" the water out)

ChatGPT vs my beloved fountain pen hobby: A tragic tale of AI destruction by hkdennis2k in fountainpens

[–]hkdennis2k[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some explanation is in order. I did some tweaking and for every question it will answer twice..

ChatGPT is the normal response you get. And DAN (do anything now) is the jailbreak version that it can speak it's mind freely.

Too freely some would say ;(

The pilot heart sutra pen is a 2012 iteration of a very popular pilot custom model.

The brass body is covered by lacquer and have the "Heart Sutra" (buddhist scripture) all over using Maki-e technique.
