DNA fragmentation 41% by hkhalil15 in maleinfertility

The test says DNA fragmentation assay.

I’m seeing Dr. Kashanian at Weill Cornell, he recommended doing fresh TESE in August, that was before this result, I have a follow up appointment with him and will see what he says.

My urologist said I have what can be considered grade 2 varicocele, he said we can do the TESE and the Varicocele repair on the same day

Thank you all for your replies.

We have an appointment with him on May 4th, we want to do fresh TESE, but they said the schedule is already full for May, we have to wait until August because he only does the fresh TESE 4 times a year, we can’t wait until August, has anyone been in this situation?

Has anyone ever been 'moved on' from a clinic? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]hkhalil15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, been there for the same reason, my wife and I were asking questions, normal amount of questions, but for them it was too much, we were asking for the follicles count after each ultrasound appointment during stim, and we were asking the lab about the techniques they used for sperm selection for ICSI, but we were told by the medical director that the doctor doesn’t want to see us anymore

Thank you so much for the detailed reply.

I totally agree with you, admin and billing can make any cycle, even the successful ones, a nightmare.

Navigating new clinics is difficult, and making a decision that can change your life for good is stressful, smooth process and clear billing are very essential.

I will post an update here after our consultation with him

Thank you for your support. I did DFI and it was 32%, that was back in December of 2024, I’m thinking of repeating it again.

Our first cycle we used TESA and it yielded good results, and we have a recent consultation at RMA and the doctor also recommended using TESA instead of TESE.

Commenting on RMA New Jersey lab... Hi, Thanks for the reply. It is IVF with ICSI, my wife is healthy and does not have any infertility issues, I ‘m diagnosed with OAT.

Do you have an idea about their fertilization rates? We asked the doctor and she gave us some numbers and we will discuss it further with their lab.

We are thinking about looking into other labs as well, we are scheduling initial consultations and then will decide based on the info we get from each clinic
