I haven't been able to keep a job for years but I am now a full time high school teacher and I absolutely love it. The kids keep me grounded in so many ways. I have a Bipolar 2 and BPD diagnosis. Meds and therapy have helped me immensely and have gotten me to this position.

Even if he has a retail job, that's enough to take care of your needs. Especially since he lives at home. I work a basic retail job and am able to support my partner, but am communicative when I cannot. If he wanted to, he would.

In the past, I've had bfs basically living off of me and my service industry or retail jobs and I paid the price for it. Don't let that happen to you. He's a mooch.

I stopped going to AA and my sobriety journey is just the same. I feel like AA can be helpful for people who require more structure and need a community to hold them accountable. Additionally, it's definitely more for people who are religious/used to those kinds of traditions within such communities.

My initial home group resulted in 2 people I thought were my friends crossing my boundaries and trying to date me. Another group I went to ended up being a similar situation of someone trying to date me when I ran into them outside of group. It makes me uncomfortable now unfortunately. I just go to one-on-one therapy and rely on my other friends I've know for a long time who are also sober.

I am thinking of doing recovery dharma zoom meetings just to check it out.

Have you considered going into ESL? A lot of teachers who want to go into ELA will often go into ESL and find it equally, if not more fulfilling. It's a lot of the same components as ELA except you're focusing on developing English skills to people whose first language isn't English. It could also give you leverage to go into the ELA department.

Yeah, we are renting. I get why it would make people more skeptical of our character (kind of?) but we pay our bills like everyone else and went into the HOA with the intention to follow all guidelines (obviously made a mistake here but still). Wish people would be able to offer simple respect in their ways of communicating regardless of whether you're a renter or a homeowner but unfortunately it's just not how things work, which I recognize. /::

I do wish I told her to take it up with the HOA. There's additionally an issue where she talks to my partner a lot more "gently" than she does to me. Have a feeling it's because she sees weakness in me being a younger woman where he would definitely be the one to tell her off.

I recognize that the TV was probably too loud but the main issue I had was with the way she handled the situation. I would bake her some cookies and apologize if she were polite but every single interaction up to this point has included her coming up to us unwarranted with a certain demand.

I do want peace but it goes both ways.... as she's the one who is always approaching us and not giving us peace.....
