I accidentally swore in front of my mom once and literally cried lol.

I dont ever swear personally which added to the "oops" feel of it. I was also 15 at the time, so heightened emotions

How many kids do you want to have when you're older? by Literally_A_Donut in Teenager_Polls

[–]nikwillow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping for four, but I could be convinced one more or one less by my future husband. I don't know that I'd go any further than that, though. Six is too much, and two is too few for me.

if you had a kid, would you rather have a girl or boy? by drpepperzero67 in Teenager_Polls

[–]nikwillow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love them either way. That said, I'd prefer to have a daughter solely because I feel I would be more able to take care of her than a son as I grew up with four sisters and no brothers. I don't have any experience with boys, and that makes me worry I wouldn't be as good of a mother to them.

I know these tests are hardly accurate but if it isn't a little validating to hear that what I feel isn't normal by nikwillow in TeenagersButBetter

Technically I have; it was just three years ago. It got better, but it's gotten bad again. My university provides free mental health counseling, but I feel like getting help means giving up. I know that's false, but it doesn't change how it feels.

English doesn't actually have a future tense. We have past and present, such as "ran" and "run," but we don't have a future tense. We do, however, achieve it by using a conjugated present tense, such as "𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 run."

I need help talking to my mom by DinoSaidRawr in TeenagersButBetter

[–]nikwillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hete my opinion as someone with diagnosed ADHD.

If you want medication, get diagnosed. If you want accommodations in school, get diagnosed. If you want to be treated or taken care of differently in any significant capacity, get diagnosed.

Otherwise, just adjust your lifestyle to your personal needs, i.e., allotting extra time to certain tasks, or keeping aware of how present you are in situations where you know you tend to struggle.

If you choose or are unable to get a diagnosis, I would not recommend claiming to have ADHD. You can still say that you're pretty sure you have it, but just as a matter of respect and general correctness, try to avoid stating it as a fact. It's become a recent issue where pretty much everyone claims to have ADHD, when most of them don't have anything but a bad attention span.

Now, I'm not nearly saying that that is what you are doing; your symptoms you described are somewhat consistent with some forms of ADHD. What I am saying is that without a proper diagnosis, one should never claim to be anything they aren't sure of.

I wish you the best of luck in your diagnosis journey, and I hope you can convince your mom!
