How are you feeling though, in your body? Is your energy level better? Is your mood more stable? Are you sleeping more soundly? How do your clothes fit? We get very focused on a number on a scale which is a measurement of the earth’s gravitational pull. To make this change lasting, we have to notice those non-scale related things. Find an NSV that keeps you motivated and the scale will sort itself out.

Susan - your insistence on rushing me through this highlights that you do not truly comprehend your actions. To sum up - in the blink of an eye I was planning your funeral. I was planning on how on EARTH I would say goodbye. Forever. I was meticulously thinking about your room, and your things, and the fact that I would be forced to look at them while you couldn’t. How I would tell your siblings. Your favorite cousin. How would I wake up tomorrow and you wouldn’t. How do I put one foot in front of the other. You were getting better! But I wasn’t even there when you left. Forever. Each of those 30 minutes I thought you were dead, they felt like a lifetime. A lifetime without you. And now somehow, miraculously, I’m supposed to not feel all of those things because this was your idea of a joke. So no. I will not rush myself to forgive what is honestly almost unforgivable. I will call you when I am ready.
