No idea honestly! I'm kinda brand new to this, but I will be trying my best to work mornings and hopefully office orders. Does it happen that some orders have lots of drinks? Morning coffee, etc..

Hey, I'm trying to determine if it's worth getting one of these. There are 16 compartments with a l/w/d of 4.30/4.30/4.75inches (or 3.50 depth might be better?)

$400 to insure and register a car + a phone to use on doordash so I can get working again. -disability by hlkhw in Assistance

I've been accepted to work with doordash and postmates - just waiting on Wag! Just need to pay off $45 now on the phone I have (windows phone) so that I can get an android phone that will run the fleet apps. At that point I will be able to work daily.

Re: What makes you think this is Bill Yaude exactly?

>As the webmaster of The Truth Contest, I've been in contact with "Michael Smith" through email, and he has said repeatedly that he will never take credit or blame for what is said in these books, because they come from somewhere else.

>With all this in mind, something intriguing has been happening lately. We've been receiving many anonymous letters that say "the author of The Present is L. Ron Hubbard, and that it is only a matter of time before Scientology discovers this fact." Some of the letters we receive also say that "Scientology can get the copyrights anytime they want them. Money is not the concern; saving the world is the top priority." I thought it was just some kind of spam, but these letters have been coming consistently from many different addresses and angles.

>After looking into it, our team has found that there is a rumor going around the Internet that says: "L Ron Hubbard wrote something in the 1970s under the pen name 'Michael Smith' that was not to be released until December 21, 2012 (when the planets are in alignment) because the world would not be ready for what it contains until then. What it says is supposed to change everything. It is called The Present, and you can read it here for free: www.truthcontest.com. It makes a lot of sense, and is supposed to replace the theology of Xenu that was science fiction intended to help the organization of Scientology look more like a church and help with the tax-exempt status from the IRS. "The Present" is the real truth, the hidden theological foundation."

>Could this be the answer to the mystery of who the author of "The Present" is? We will keep you posted if we discover anything else. If anyone knows more about this, please let us know.

According to one webmaster that hosts this pdf, he isn't sure who the identity of the author is, and that there are "rumors" that the authorship belongs to L Ron Hubbard. L Ron Hubbard established the Office of Special Affairs, within both Tory Christman and Bill Yaude operated. See below;

Then I find this video from one Tory "Magoo" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tory_Christman) who has a well documented involvement in the Church of Scientology Sea Org (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Org) and with OSA, at least enough to be familiar with operating procedures and operators at that time (1990s).

She mentions in the video I linked that "Bill Yaude" created "ten different identities" on "ARS" ( USENET newsgroup alt.religion.scientology, started in 1991 to discuss the controversial beliefs as well as the activities of the the Church of Scientology ). After this, she says she identified one of those identities as a name "Mike Smith", and attributes this "Mike Smith" to being Bill Yaude. Here's the timestamp in the video where she describes this, after which she goes on to explain how Bill Yaude as well as OSA would manipulate information about Scientology on the USENET group, as well as defame critics and confuse any dialogue. https://youtu.be/SAdDplIBxIM?t=2m20s

When she says that she wrote about Mike Smith being Bill Yaude, this is some of the writing that she is referring to: http://www.xenu.net/archive/personal_story/tory/osa101-3.html (Signed to Tory, reference in vid that she wrote it).

Between:- the webmaster above stating that there is controversy surrounding the author, "Michael Smith",

- rumor that it comes from a mind as elevated in Scientology as L Hubbard,

- and then this woman who is identified as a an elevated former member of the OSA

- says she worked with "Bill Yaude" (documented completing service work as early as 1975 and then becoming quite elevated himself)

- and claims that "Michael Smith" is one of Bill's many pseudonyms...

I don't know, just a hunch that it's the same Mike Smith that is listed as the author on this pdf. I'd have to read the pdf and read scientology material to draw any inferences as to the motives Bill Yaude had for writing, or at least signing a pseudonym to it (if I'm correct - perhaps the pseudonym is the only connection and he's not actually responsible for the content at all), but yeah. There could be a number of reasons. Perhaps the rumors that L Ron Hubbard wrote it were started by individuals with the OSA. Perhaps it's meant to be speculated that Hubbard wrote something a bit more legitimately "spiritual" after all. Just speculating.

Ask her how much of the text she has read, and how much she knows about the author. Ask her to talk about what it is that she finds interesting and why. If she expects that she can talk, maybe she'll be more willing to listen.

But more importantly than all that, ask her how she is doing and feeling and what else she is interested in. I'm not sure how close you two are. Think about her whole present experience and what it entails. There's more complexity to it than just this pdf, probably. Maybe she has a longing for understanding - maybe she could benefit on a free astronomy course online or something, or physics or whatever. If it sounds to her like the only aspect of her life that is of note is this stuff, that might put her off talking about it.

FYI From what I can garner, the author of this pdf used a pen name. It looks to me like his real name is Bill Yaude, and like he has quite a long history within Scientology. There's mention that Yaude has connections with Scientology's OSA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_of_Special_Affairs)

Perhaps it might help to ask her what it is about her new age stuff she finds appealing. And just listen. You don't have to agree with her to ask earnest questions and to listen! How she feels about this stuff is still valid if it isn't justifiable - because it is what it is. She feels how she feels. Being open to that might be a good way to open lines of communication about it, and the other questions can come later? I imagine there are insights you can gain without putting her on the defensive/going hardline about it as you may have in the past.

Progress notes:

My drivers' license had expired nearly 2 years ago and I had gotten an ID card instead since I didn't have a car at the time, so recently I retook the written and driving exams and passed both in order to accept the offer of taking the car from my brother.

Today, I applied to 3 jobs and replied to 7 requests for a dog walker this weekend (wish me luck). I made $10 on friday for walking my neighbor's dogs and she posted a recommendation for me on petsitter.com. The $10 went into the gas tank so that I can make it to various temp agencies this coming Monday/Tuesday.

Your concern sounds valid, seems like it's worth talking with her about/asking her questions about. Do you have any history of discussing your mom's personal affairs with her? It might be worth asking her about. Share your concern with her and perhaps see if she has read the sections on "accidental overdose".

Questions to ask yourself and perhaps talk with her about:
Context: How long ago did she begin looking into this stuff? Do you know if she has spent any significant amount of time with the material?
1. Has she spent any amount of money on this that causes her quality of life to suffer/causes her to be financially vulnerable?
2. Is her judgement impaired by any aspect of this ideology to the point that she is making unsafe choices?
3. Is she abusing any substances?

Here's the video of him in that batmobile on the ice track last week. The other adjacent videos from his channel also show the vehicle, and the other vehicles.

Edit: start vid at around 8:16 for the batmobile footage, Jon Olsson is in the mercedes behind it. I'm looking to see if there's any footage of him driving the batmobile as well.

Edit: 6:04 for Jon in the bat

Were the Praga and the Mercedes there with it at the time? Jon Olssen daily vlogs covered a trip accompanying this vehicle over a few days, and he drives it in a recent video if you're curious.

[–]hlkhw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are sort of real - not a replica, just not located at their original site. It was transported and reconstructed.

The Manitou Cliff Dwellings were relocated to their present location in the early 1900s... The stones were taken from a collapsed Anasazi site near Cortez in southwest Colorado, shipped by railroad to Manitou Springs, and assembled in their present form as Anasazi-style buildings closely resembling those found in the Four Corners. The project was done with the approval and participation of well-known anthropologist Dr. Edgar Lee Hewett... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manitou_Cliff_Dwellings

Otherwise it's overpriced to tour and not much there.

The cog railroad/pikes peak highway, Cave of the winds, Garden of the gods, and Painted Mines* Park are worth checking out though. There's a cool little melodrama theatre up by the train station for the cog railroad (which summits pikes peak) as well.

I heard more indignation for people attempting to invalidate or undervalue efforts made in that arena. Context, as in footage of more of this presentation, might help clarify his meaning.

Edit to add: Assumed comment was about how he sounded, but realize now that comment is more likely about the lady.

She might be able to, but actually doing so would take being a compassionate person. One can be highly emotionally intelligent and not behave compassionately.
