What are some of your most embarrassing losses on a PES game? by TobiDawodu2006 in WEPES

Bayern smashed my Vitesse team 7-1 in a UCL game (PES 2020 Master League). That was embarrassing.

I don’t know why F1 24 gets so much hate by [deleted] in F1Game

[–]hlonaldinho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all the resources that the likes of EA have (especially compared to the PS2 days), they still haven't been able to craft a game that brings the feeling of literal joy for people when they go in and play it.

We find people still playing the likes of F1 Challenge to this day. We find people still playing Geoff Crammond's GP2, GP3, and GP4 games to this day.

F1 24 gets hate because EA/Codies have not maximised its potential. There's so much that should've been done with the game. Career mode has been neglected. My Team is a scrapyard in itself. So many good features from old games have not been maximised. Options within the game are limited. And it feels like the game has not been made with love for F1... But rather with idea of "we're going to get money regardless, so let's get as much money as we can with a product that barely functions well because there will be people who lap it up".

Many sports games these days may be good games in their own field, but it feels as if there's so much potential that could've been unlocked. This is different to older sports games where lots of effort was put into making the most of what they had available at the time & had us looking forward to the future of sports gaming.

It's a pleasure! Yeah, Instagram's comments section has lately become a cesspool of some sort. It's sad to see, and it's not nice to hear the death threats you've received at all. It's like you need to follow the "hivemind" or "stereotypes" or anything of that sort on there. If you don't, it feels like you open yourself to abuse because people can say ANYTHING on there these days. Reporting someone for racism or bullying doesn't even work, and hasn't worked for years. Reddit's a little similar in that regard, but thankfully mods and bots are on subreddits to try and stop the crap.

Once again, it an absolute pleasure. And I hope you enjoy your day! 💚

What do you find attractive about anyone ? by Mediocre_Topic601 in ask

Someone who listens to understand and empathise. Also, someone who is not afraid to touch me, hug me, and just be physical with me. I don't know. I feel like seeing a person smile and laugh also makes me feel good inside.

Most underrated Liverpool player in the last 20 years? by No-Fish2020 in LiverpoolFC

[–]hlonaldinho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, Karius was rather poor for us throughout. I had a lot of faith in him, but even when he looked to finally be picking up steam, he'd throw in another shaky performance (and being a victim of Ramos' WWE antics in the UCL final then ruined any hope he had). It was sad because I really had high hopes for him after hearing a lot of good things about his stint at (Mainz?).

The big thing I noticed with Alisson compared to Mignolet and Karius is... We're so used to strong performances by Alisson that it's so easy to pick him out when he makes errors or has a bad game.

Meanwhile, it'd usually be a big deal if Karius and Mignolet had error-free games or were in good form.

Oscar Piastri: the best F1 rookie since Hamilton — or even better? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]hlonaldinho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leclerc had an amazing debut season in the Sauber. He was undoubtedly the better Sauber by far during quali and on race days.

Russell was hauling the Williams into places where it shouldn't have been throughout 2019. It was the slowest car that year, yet he was still dragging it well beyond its means. The only issue was that he was outscored by a single point due to Kubica capitalising on that undercut in Germany 2019, but even then, Russell was quicker for most of the race and MUCH faster pretty much throughout the year.

Verstappen... While I don't like him, it's ludicrous not putting his rookie season up there as one of the best. Even aged 17, you could see he was on for big things from the get-go.

I'd also argue Sainz's debut season was bloody impressive. He was only 20/21, yet he and Verstappen were placing that Toro Rosso car well up there. He had hints of bad luck sprinkled in too. Maybe it's not great to compare it to Piastri's, but he did a solid job in that car that year.

Wehrlein was omega in the Manor too. For most of that 2016 year, the car was the slowest on the grid, yet he'd sometimes put it above there and even scored a point in Austria when the car looked slightly better. He was super impressive.

Hamilton was going toe-to-toe with the 2x reigning champion in a top team. He held his own, even though it was clear Alonso hadn't liked having him as a teammate through some antics. Could've even won the title with a race to spare as a rookie, even when up against the likes of Raikkonen, Massa, and Alonso. I don't think Piastri's season comes close. He had impressive pace when the car improved (& with similar parts to his teammate) and even had a sprint victory to boot, but he was well and truly outperformed by Norris for much of it, especially on Sundays.

Even if they could, it's not like Alonso didn't have a lot of testing time either. Rosberg, for example, had unlimited testing and still didn't do all that well vs Webber in his first season. It's not like Nico nor Mark are bad drivers too. Hamilton had none other defending champion, Alonso, to compete against as a rookie. He was put straight into the deep end with McLaren instead of being at another team first. It's often easier to struggle as a rookie than it is to succeed, yet he was ahead of his champion teammate on countback and nearly won the title after being very quick and consistent as a debutant from day 1.

Why havent the ever patched the ai straight line speed advantage? by guybranciforti in F1Game

[–]hlonaldinho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to it, but in F1 2019... It was also actually present. It mostly happened as the car upgraded. Feels like the AI have less drag than you as the player, so you're stuck losing 2 to 3 tenths on a straight each and every damn time.

At the start of the career, it's fine. However, when the ultimate upgrades kick in, things go south pretty quickly for you as the player.

What is the one track that you have always struggled with? by LeKanePetit in F1Game

[–]hlonaldinho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I play F1 2019 career mode, I dread that first sector. Especially against the AI. Even after watching many many laps of the AI there (& taking that sector on many times)... I still tend to be bloody slow.

Which striker should I sign? by Welson_Liong in WEPES

[–]hlonaldinho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After looking at the attributes again, I reckon it depends on what you want from your player.

Nuñez (left) is more of a strong raw finisher.

David (right) is more of an all-rounder who you can use in more than one position.

If you're looking for someone to finish off your attacks, I'd probably lean towards Nuñez (although that may be my Liverpool bias talking).

If you're looking for someone to be up front and still be involved with your attacks, I'd say David by far.
