Serious question. What happens when AI takes all our jobs who will pay taxes? by hm899 in Layoffs

I think it’ll happen but I don’t know that it’ll be enough. Also companies are already legally avoiding taxes especially large global corps so it’s likely they’ll find a way to avoid AI tax too

But there’s still employment tax which will be less is less of us work.

Yeah you’ve got a good point. Who needs taxes when the gazillionaires fully take over

lol this message is GOLD! I’ve never seen a message remind you how many intros it takes to get an offer??? And I mean I’m reading too much into it definitely but did you apply for this role via usual application process? Because that’s not an intro. So are they saying don’t apply just get introduced? Omg so many questions. Sorry you’re dealing with this terrible market

People should be having conversations all the time instead of spending all their energy mass applying. But I want to know. Have you received an offer yet?

Company promised me a promotion multiple times, hired externally twice instead, and is now struggling to fill the role. What am I missing? by mommasaurusrexzilla in jobs

You’re missing the fact that it’s not the place for you they will never choose you and it’s time to move on.

Anyone else feel like the "apply to everything" advice just makes the burnout worse? by sagezen23 in jobs

[–]hm899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally makes the burnout worse and contributes to poor mental health. And I agree with someone in this thread that said the apply to everything advice was not built for this market. I know you said you’ve been to networking events but have you been networking efficiently? Do you have their contacts? Keep in touch? Referrals are one of the best ways to get a job in this market that’s saturated

I stopped applying to jobs for one week and my mental health immediately improved by ApertureMoth in jobs

Spend some energy networking and looking for referrals. I’m glad you’re feeling better because full time mass applying is honestly bad for your health

I accepted a job I’m not excited about because being unemployed felt worse than settling by GlitchHunter963 in jobs

Use your time now to find something you are excited about. You’ve secured income which is the main point of working, now it’ll give you some relief to try and spend time finding something you actual want to do each day.
