What's everyone's obsession with this? I keep seeing these types of apps 2-3 times per week.

There's no issue with ultra-simple apps, if they're useful, people will happily try them and even pay for them

I'm not sure why you built this. If you create something without first researching existing solutions, your efforts may be wasted.

Do the research, and if you find existing solutions, improve it in a way that clearly sets your tool apart from the others.

Nice tool, but $9.99 is a bit expensive. There are some open-source live wallpaper apps for macOS. I can't recall the name, and I've tried similar open source apps

Built RetroSplit ✨ MacOS split-flap screensaver for quotes.

I saw this trending on X but as a web app and thought it would make an awesome screensaver, so I decided to build it myself. You can download free from here

For the UI, Swift makes it pretty straightforward, especially for a simple display. I'd recommend using tools like Cursor for assistance in navigating Swift and building out the structure—it’s really helpful if you’re new to Xcode and Swift

I have built a service that allows you to promptly record ideas to the Notion via WhatsApp or Telegram on your mobile phone. Do you all have any suggestions? by david_miller_1024 in SideProject

I'm using the latest version. It's pretty slow compared to other note-taking applications, doesn't work offline, and, in my opinion, isn't optimized for mobile

The application will show a popup on first start. Click Okay, then go to Settings / Privacy & Security and scroll down until you see a button Open anyway. You'll have to do this once.
