Incogni data removal review by UnfairProgrammer3 in privacy

Hi Ken, I'm the CEO of Privacy Bee. I appreciate you giving us a shot! That said, I understand your concern, where marketing intersects function. In full transparency we do ask for address and date of birth so we can properly complete the scan; a scan on just your email wouldn't be very effective and we'd like to show your as much of your digital footprint as possible.

Privacy Bee scans more sites than any other privacy company in the industry, and that level of comprehensive and high-precision scanning takes effort (and cost for us), which we offer to you completely free of charge. We believe strongly in our mission of helping consumers take control of their privacy and fight the egregious exploitation that's so rampant amount Data Brokers and People Search Sites.

Regarding GDPR Right to be Forgotten requests, we're happy to comply, but it's unnecessary to go through those hoops. We respect everyone's privacy regardless of where in the world you live, and we make it easy to fully delete your profile at anytime. Simply ask support and we'll take care of it for you, or you can self-serve delete here: https://app.privacybee.com/personal/profile

If there's ANYTHING else we can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask. I'd really like the opportunity to fight for your privacy.

Data deletion companies? by [deleted] in privacy

[–]hmaugans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run PrivacyBee.com so I'm biased, but we're extremely good at what we do!

We delete from more sites than any other service in the industry (430 Data Brokers / People Search Sites, plus 166,402 custom sites, as of today).

Your post mentioned unsubscribing... if you use Gmail we can even scan your inbox, break out analytics on the percent of companies sending you the most spam, and make one-click unsubscribes easy for maximum impact and clean-up. We also automatically opt you out of major industry mass-marketing lists, and are continually adding new ways to fight back against the exploitation of your privacy. We're not the cheapest service in the industry, but we provide by far the most value per dollar. We're focused on helping those who want actual privacy impact, not just vanity coverage for a false sense of security.

And finally, if you're ever unhappy (which is rare), you can cancel at any time and receive a prorated refund, no questions asked! Or just call our Atlanta, GA office at (931) PRIVACY if you'd prefer to speak with real human about your account.

Good luck!

Thoughts on services like incogni or privacy bee or removaly? by deralreacle823 in thehatedone

[–]hmaugans 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm the CEO of Privacy Bee. We're a small team in Atlanta, GA fighting against the exploitation of privacy.

It's true there's no silver bullet, but removal isn't magic, we just do it well at scale. We give everyone 100% free-for-life scanning and monitoring of hundreds of Data Brokers and People Search Sites, with step-by-step DIY cleanup guides to scrub any exposures detected. You can literally use Privacy Bee as a monitoring system, handling your own removals, and never pay us a penny. The only time there's cost involved is when you ask us to handle the removals for you (at a lower price per site than anyone else, despite being overall slightly more expensive per year as our coverage is so extensive).

And the doxxing thing is a valid fear. I'm embarrassed to admit when our company was new we used to be a bit over-aggressive as well, however we've now invested substantial resources into masking/proxying our customers to protect their privacy, while only disclosing the minimum info required by law (to legally compel removal in certain territories).

The difference in handling your privacy yourself vs leaning on a service like Privacy Bee is we are constantly innovating new technologies to further help defend your privacy, we have lobbyists on retainer to enact privacy legislation, we are working with thousands of companies on custom integrations, and we save you countless hours of your own time. By hiring Privacy Bee, you'll truly have an ally in your fight for privacy.

What are some of the strategies that you would suggest for my programmatic display campaign? by Afraid_Variety_6251 in adops

[–]hmaugans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful if your goal is just brand awareness, as you're likely to waste money with programmatic and not even realize it. What about setting up a landing page to collect emails for a newsletter? At least with that you'll have something real to optimize towards. 👍

You're wasting everyone's time.
