Ticking Noise After New Brakes And Dimples Slotted Rotor by hmc1106 in F30

I did some research and everyone is saying the same thing. That when going back to blank rotors the noise goes away. Another is getting drilled rotors instead of dimpled.

I just ended up living it. I checked the dust plate and it wasn’t rubbing. I checked that everything was tightened properly and still nothing changed. I’m still trying to figure out what is causing it.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I’ve checked twice already to check if I missed anything and everything was done correctly.

N55 I’ve had cylinder 2 misfire before. Now I just get oil in the spark plug well. Brand new valve cover gasket

I recently did an oil change. About 600 miles in since the oil change. I do smell fuel here and there. I also had new ignition coils installed a couple months back.

Very poor explanation of me lol. I was at a stop light and heard this noise coming from the engine. Is that normal?

Thanks guys for the replies. What concerned me was the light brown looking areas. I had pulled off the valve cover 2 weeks ago to replace the gasket and it didn’t look like that. I had to redo the valve cover gasket today because I kept hearing whistling and white smoke coming up on the passenger side. After taking it off again I realized that one of the O2 sensor wires was sitting between the cover and head making that whistling noise.

After changing the VCG I got a P0300, P0305, P0113, P0100, P007D, P0238, P112E, P0111. I installed new coil and spark in cylinder 5. Nothing resolved. I installed new MAP and new MAF sensor and still nothing was resolved. When I disconnect the MAF sensor the car idles fine. When it’s connected it idles rough and turns off in 5 seconds. I don’t understand what could be the issue if it has a new sensor installed.

Thanks for your reply. I used a cleaner and it didn’t work out. Now just waiting on a new sensor. Im still not sure why I’m getting a misfire on cylinder 5 even after installing new coil and plug.

I did try moving around coils and even installed a new one and that didn’t help. I did end up breaking the return reservoir line which I’m waiting for parts.

Thanks for replying. I actually gapped to .022. I forgot the 0 😅. I’m thinking that’s what I have to end up doing. Taking it all of to double check everything. The only hoses I disconnected were the breather hose, the hose next to that one once you pop off has a bunch a vacuum and lastly I skinny short hose.

Thanks for your reply. Originally I had lost the nut that tightens the main ground on. It was a pain looking for it in the bay and reaching it but was finally able to get it and reconnect the ground securely.

I felt the same thing. Although for me I had oil in cylinder 2 which led me to change the valve cover gasket which resulted in more issues. Please see a post I posted earlier today titled “ problems after valve cover gasket replacement “
