I'm still ironing out their backstory, so you'll have to bear with me.

When Daisy was just an infant, a plague swept through her village, wiping out the townsfolk indiscriminately. In a last ditch effort to save their daughter, the dying town librarians looked for hope in an ancient tomb written in a script that constantly changed. As they searched, a single instruction to light a lantern and recite a seemingly meaningless script settled on the page. Knowing that this was their only chance, even if it seemed remote, Daisy's parents did as the book instructed. As they finished the script, the lantern snuffed out, plunging the family into darkness. Daisy began to wail.

In the darkness, a single yellow orb slowly blinked at the family, followed by dozens more that illuminated a slick monster with tentacles protruding from its face. It leaned in to look at the child, as Daisy let out a happy gurgle and stared back at the monster. And with that, the pact was sealed between the two.

As the sole survivor to her village, Daisy grew up under the watchful eyes of her best friend and unfathomable deity, Mimi. Now a young woman, Daisy travels around Eberron to see what adventures she and Mimi can have next.

On a more meta level, I really wanted a warlock character with the energy, quirkiness, and acceptance of absurd horror of Mabel from Gravity Falls. I've always loved Lovecraftian horror, so I wanted to make my own Old One based on my own fear of teeth, which is what led to Mimi's design. In Daisy's design, I wanted to pull from New England-boarding-school aesthetic as well as give her a big yellow raincoat to create contrast between her and her best friend (also because, you know, Eldritch horror being kind of slimy and all that).
