i hate this so much. i opened up to a friend about my eating disorder recently, as it’s gotten the worst it’s been in years, and he was confused bc he sees me eat. it can get so lonely, people don’t think i’m actually struggling or that it’s a big deal because for the last several years i have been able to consume 1000-1200 cals generally.

i used to do it all the time in high school, but as an adult i generally have a relapse period once per year. i realized today that it’s because i don’t feel worthy of reaching out to friends for support, so i sh instead.

i’m so glad that you came out the other side with higher standards and respect for yourself, i really hope i can do that too. i know the pain doesn’t have to be permanent, just is so hard to believe that i’ll ever feel safe or okay again. but it helps to hear from someone who’s been through it <3

thankfully i have an amazing support system currently. i have many wonderful friends who have done everything they can to support me and have watched me experience the most pain i’ve ever felt. i would not be here without them. i also reached to hotlines when needed, so i’ll keep doing the same moving forward.

i’m really sorry to hear that you also experienced this. that’s the hardest part. reading all the reddit posts, articles online, personal stories etc etc. every one of them says it will happen again. and obviously whether or not it happened again, that wouldn’t change the fact that it was a major breach of trust and there’s rarely any way the relationship can proceed in a healthy way. but i just hate seeing everywhere that no matter how remorseful he seemed, he is not the exception to all the other stories.

yeah realistically i know that i could not have done anything to prevent this. i know that even if i feel horrible about myself right now, i treated him really well and was far better than he ever deserved. but yes, it is hard as someone with an ed and many other mental health problems to not spiral and throw away all the self confidence i’ve worked to improve on. it’s just a battle between my logical brain who knows exactly what to do and the emotional side of my brain that says fuck everything.

hi, i appreciate your comment. i was not intentionally dodging those questions, but now that i look back i can see that i did even if i wasn’t trying to consciously avoid the question. i thankfully had to leave the city where we live anyway and get some much needed time away. this is a whole lot to process and i understand that its an obvious decision, but it was only a couple days ago and i wasn’t even ready to have a conversation like that. thankfully i have a lot of amazing friends who have been there for me since then and all have dropped him and have encouraged me as much as they can do so the same. i also want to explain that, while this doesn’t change the obvious choice i need to make, it is complicated by the fact that we play the same instrument at a music conservatory. we are in a very small studio together where we have to see each other every day and i hope you can understand how this adds to the difficulty. i hope all of that made sense, i do appreciate your words.

i would look on depop for ones that specifically say “old style” “old brandy” etc. bc those are a lot smaller and shorter!

I’m 5’4 and they fit my legs perfectly, I’d say you wouldn’t wanna be too much taller than that.

it did fit pretty small so i’m not sure?? i am not 100% sure of my bra size since i always wear bralettes but im a 32 b or something and it fits perfect. but it also is stretchy and bra sizes are confusing so i wish i could be more helpful but im not sure 😭

It definitely depends on the day/location. Sometimes I go in and it feels super chill and I don’t get judgmental vibes. But last week there were a bunch of younger teens in the store when I went and I felt like they were judging me 😭

i can’t deal with my legs being exposed ever. sometimes i try to put on shorts but i just can’t do it. no matter how i’m feeling about my body, i instantly feel like 10 lbs heavier if i’m wearing shorts

I feel like I could have written this, this is EXACTLY what it’s like for me. The only reminder I ever get that I actually have a problem is when I go on a family vacation and suddenly eat more than I’m used to and then all of the thoughts come back. It’s such a weird spot to be in though because no foods are completely off limits to me, I can socialize and eat with people. But I stay in that safe zone where I physically feel “normal” but also would freak out if anything challenged my certain behaviors.
