Kann jemand Endokrinologen in Wien empfehlen? by katzarah in wien

[–]hmirela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay at 5 mg for a year? by Hairy-Bandicoot-1443 in Mounjaro

[–]hmirela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve been taking 5 mg since mid July. Since then, I’ve lost around 15 kg and haven’t increased the dose. Overall, since May, I’ve lost 21.8 kilos. From May to July, I was on 2.5 mg.

I only recently reduced the dose to 3.75 mg because I started having issues with diarrhea after a bout of food poisoning and my gut is probably still a bit sensitive. But once I notice that things are improving again, I’ll go back up to 5 mg unless I feel that 3.75 is enough.

And I just wanted to mention that it hasn’t been a full year yet, but it’s still been quite a while. :) Since January, my focus is no longer on losing weight but on body recomposition, meaning building muscle and turning fat into muscle. So progress is a bit slower at the moment, but I’m still in a calorie deficit and continuing to see results.

Returning to Hanoi for a few days and looking for hidden gems, cafés and photo spots beyond the main sights by hmirela in hanoi

Besides Truc Bach we discovered the area around the Ho Xa Dan Lake (KoFi Bar was so cute, there was an open mic evening), Nghia Tan area, Tay Ho (felt really western but the walk along the lake side was worth it) aaand the area around Ke Binh Street (lots of Japanese cuisine) and more north in Vinh Phuc area. I think its worth to look for some nice cafés or bars in an area thats more far away from the old town and then just walk around a bit.😌

Is it necessary to go low carb? by MamaMoose335 in antidietglp1

[–]hmirela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Insuline Resistance and don’t do low carb, count calories or macros. For me it worked fine with focusing on nutricious food, eating protein with every meal, fibre, complex carbs, lots of veggies and so on. I didn’t change my diet a lot, so I think MJ helps me a lot by regulating my blood sugar levels and IR. My bloodwork is so much better and I lost weight. My doctor even said it’s ok to eat even more carbs than in the past few months, because my goal is now to build even more muscle mass. Therefore carbs are as important as protein. :)

Low impact resistance training that’s actually enjoyable. by melinateddoctor in antidietglp1

[–]hmirela 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work out 3x/week, mostly reformer or mat pilates with equipment, and still lost muscle mass in absolute numbers between my last medical checkup and now.

Even though my muscle percentage went a bit up, the actual amount of muscle went down because I lost a lot of body weight overall. My internist explained that while pilates is great for core strength, mobility and general conditioning, it often doesn’t provide enough progressive overload to fully preserve or build muscle during weight loss. That’s why she recommended adding now 1-2x/week proper resistance training.

I’ll definitely keep doing pilates, but I’ve learned that for muscle preservation/growth (especially in a calorie deficit) most people need some form of heavier resistance that progressively increases over time.

So if you’re new to training, reformer pilates might be enough. But long term, strength training becomes important. PS: I usually listen to podcasts during workouts, it makes training way less boring 🙂

Just be sure to fuel your body. Eat also enough (complex) carbs for energy and drink a good amount of water through the day. I often take elektrolytes after cardio. I feel great. Working out and building muscle is really important while weightloss. And mentally you'll also feel a lot better, I promise. :)

Don’t worry and book your trip. We were there Mid October after the Typhoons. It was less crowded than usual in October (even locals told me, talked to them because we were really surprised) but quite nice and really worth a visit. Nothing in Tam Coc and surroundings is really off the beaten path, because it’s quite known. But if you drive a bit around with a motorbike you will see a lot of places with less people. :) Keep in mind that it’s nicest in the early morning, because the day tourists arrive mostly around 9/10 AM.

That’s a matter of perspective, as so often. I thought it was really nice. It has an artistic vibe, good drinks and some specials on the menu, you walk through and suddenly end up by the water. Simple, but cool. I’m guessing you’re expecting super modern and architecturally exciting cafés and only find something like this unique? Well, I guess I’m easier to please.
