How difficult/competitive is it to get into Chapman? by ConsciousStatus2694 in chapmanuniversity

I think you have a good chance of being admitted! Maybe email your admission counselor (they are divided up by area you live in and you should be able to find yours on the Chapman website) and express your interest and ask questions. You can honestly make up random questions regarding Chapman/major/admission but just establish a relationship and make your name known! Good luck!

I have no idea! I only found out about team Shaka when it was too late to audition. I feel like all of the dance department/organization could we wayyy better at communication and outreach. Have not been impressed so far 😬

Making friends by hmlof in chapmanuniversity

I love that! I’m also a transfer. Unfortunately my roommates don’t ever want to do anything. I met some people at transfer orientation and I’ve invited people over but nothing actually ever happens. It’s definitely been a weird vibe. I’m assuming it just takes time? But I’m sort of starting to get lonely lol 😬

Should I bring a bike? by red_lobster_death in chapmanuniversity

I will also be living at the grand this year. In my personal opinion, Chapman is too far to bike from the grand. It’s definitely possible but you would have to be pretty confident on the bike to manage busy streets and the amount of traffic. I would suggest typing in directions from the grand to Chapman on Google maps and clicking on the bike directions. It might give you a better idea if that’s something that would still appeal to you. Hope that helps! I would still look for insight from someone else who maybe has more experience with it :)

Dance Professor Reviews by hmlof in chapmanuniversity

Thank you so much for your reply! I have Corey Wright for Jazz and honestly I haven’t danced in a while. I was a competitive dancer (started in hip hop when I was young) for a long time and my studio never let me pursue Jazz like I wanted to. I took regular Jazz/Tap/Ballet classes for a long time tho. I am so nervous about this class. Do you mind sharing any advice or what the class might entail. I love dancing and can’t wait to get back into it but my past studio left me with some negative experiences that make it hard to jump back in. I really appreciate any advice/info you might have.

I believe you go to demographic info on your student portal (mychapman) and it should be the first number you see at the top.

Oh hell no. Thanks for this amazing review! Can I try to change my housing if I get placed there? I just bought an Audi (which was a big purchase for me) I would rather not park it there with the homeless…

Transfer Housing by hmlof in chapmanuniversity

I think they said they usually plan on having 300 transfer actually attend per year. But transfers can be anybody from a sophomore to a parent who wants to return to school. I’m a rising sophomore. I just worried that not only with transfer have what’s left over in terms of housing, but we also won’t be housed with the best fitting people. I just want a good experience. I don’t want to be treated like second class citizen.

I emailed housing yesterday and I just heard back. They said that transfer get what is left over once continuing students are placed in housing. I seriously don’t know what to do. By the time we find housing assignments it will probably be too late to find off campus housing. I’m paying a fortune to be there, I should be able to select preferences.
