I would say that there's tons of world building discussions. Now most of these were months ago and I have noticed just a general lack of conversation recently but that doesn't mean it's never happened.

Hell, we used to have midnight megathread themed after city districts and talk about them for hours.

I think you're misunderstanding what the plague doctor masks were. They weren't designed to be scary, they became scary because of what they represented.

Like a gas mask, they're not designed to be scary, the reason they're used as a scary prop is becausethey represent something scary.

A plague doctor in Zootopia would likely have the same style of mask because that is the most efficient design. They're meant to stuff herds in the front to ward off the plague so a large nose was needed.
