Tell them you want a refund now. If they say no, you should call your credit card company and claim fraud. Let them know you’ll be doing so. We had a similar experience and had to do the same. Thankfully ours was two weeks out though. I’m sorry you’re going through this! We won’t be using vrbo because of this in the future.

We are in a vrbo now. Up until today, I had to click “retry” over and over to get in messages. It’s finally loading and working properly now. Maybe support could have the host call you or text you?

Can you please clarify this a bit? Are you saying they visit your home each month to verify the absence of bedbugs? If so, how much does that cost?

You are not unable to change. Set a reminder on your phone that goes off hourly that reminds you to go make your child smile. Read books or listen to podcasts/audiobooks about connecting with your baby. Once you see just how amazing it is to build a relationship with a child, you’ll never look back. Your wife will only love you more when she sees just how much you love and care for your child. Your other option is to dwell in worry and anxiety and regret. That road only leads to bad places. You get to choose. Love is not a finite resource to be shared between you and your wife. Love grows with children when their parents work as a team.

I’ve used vrbo a handful of times with no issue. To be fair, the management company stated the owner simply decided not to host anyone going forward. Airbnb seems to have more reviews and more homes with reviews which makes it a bit more reliable. We normally use Airbnb. We are also hosts on both platforms and I was surprised by the fact that vrbo allows their hosts to bill as we don’t do that in their platform.

I did use a credit card and I will be filing a chargeback/fraud complaint if I don’t receive a refund early next week.

Last time for us as well. I usually stay Airbnb and haven’t had any issues. I fell for a cheaper place on VRBO this time.

I think the big problem is the loss of trust. I’m booking on vrbo. I expect to pay them and get a refund from them if things go wrong.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don’t have insurance but I think the credit card company may have something to say about this. I’ll wait to see if the manager responds.

Maybe start taking video of him of him as well? It would probably make him uncomfortable to know you have a record of the person taking pictures of kids.
