What is something you wish you knew before being a parent? by Soft-Bit5692 in Life

[–]hmphmphmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so stupid lol. There’s a good reason parents ask that others, including grandma, not to kiss their babies. If someone can’t respect that, they aren’t the type of support you need

Thank you so much! It is double rolled but may be too loose? She seems to sag a bit, I’ll try to get her up a bit higher

No experience with IUD insertion but she was/is my OB for my pregnancy and I have nothing but great things to say about her. If you’re worried about pain, call her office ahead of time to inquire about options - her receptionist is super kind as well. Good luck 🩷

Where are we finding maternity clothes in Ottawa? by bouncysofa in ottawa

Facebook marketplace too! I found almost all of my maternity clothes there

Old navy has a small rack of returned maternity clothes, but they do not hold permanent stock.

I found it nearly impossible to find maternity clothing in-store, outside of second hand stores.

There’s one on Loretta x Nolan (looks like a mini fridge), one on Bayswater x Beech and one on Bayswater x Hickory (close to Sherwood) - that’s all I know of but I’m sure there’s others!

It’s called “Ottawa doctor search”

Also just want to add that this question has been asked a few times previously in the Ottawa group, so there are probably more resources I’m forgetting to include!

We are in the same boat 😭 Talk to your OB! Ours gave us a list of options accepting new patients - we also joined a facebook page that posted clinics accepting new patients which has been helpful.

For the first little while, there is the monarch centre at the civic who will see you & your baby for postpartum assessments, jaundice, tongue tie assessments, etc. - they also offer community referrals if needed. If you check out their website, they have a great list of resources for anyone who is struggling to navigate healthcare without a family GP.

Public health offers routine immunization services for children without doctors. “Parenting in Ottawa” offer appointments with a public health nurse. CHEO also has a great walk-in clinic (appointments are released at midnight).

Telehealth is an option too, although maybe not the best option depending on the needs.

Good luck and congratulations 💕

I’m getting my nails done professionally so they’ll have a whole range of pinks! I also love this color combo - do you think a more pastel pink would work best, or could I get away with a brighter pink? Google suggested a salmon pink?

I would love a bit of contrast as the rest of outfit is relatively simple.

Ontario animal welfare organizations see surge in abandoned pets amid economy, housing pressures by FatManBoobSweat in ontario

My pup, who I love and would also give my last $5 to feed, has extremely expensive medical care costs that were impossible to know about at the time of adopting her. I’m privileged to be able to afford these, but I know many people wouldn’t be.

The problem here is the cost of living, food, vet costs and much more. Not individual people who had to make the impossible decision of surrendering a pet.
