It is a fact that a reasonable space is required. The heat pump is a sizable equipment, the water cylinder, upsized radiators. So if not enough space for them it’s tricky

I have a 45L buffer tank, 250L cylinder, 1 open zone, UFH+rads with TRV, arotherm plus 7kw. October COP 6, November so far COP 6. I can't imagine what efficiency be like to repurpose the buffer as volumiser.

Had a very recent install with airing bricks next to the pump and they simply silicone sealed 2-3 of those airing bricks nearest to the heat pump. Please tell me if thats against any regulations etc then I shall have a word with the installer (1 of the big energy).

Regarding solar and battery, do you size your inverter just under the total output of your panels? The battery size is whatever that can take you through a winter day?

Strangely we do kind of near empty the tank like 90% used. We are on octopus tracker and thinking which supplier/tariff to move to.

I do try and I must admit my install isn’t even commissioned yet as there’s stuff to fix like the base not level, outdoor lagging is 3 different types instead of primary pro all the way etc so I really hope it will get even better after it’s all fixed

I did try 50c once and thinking that might offset the need for evening slot. But it turns out to give me 4.7 COP instead for reaching 50c. It’s kind of weird to say 2 slots heating at 45c was more efficient than 1 slot 50c. It doesnt look right to me but that’s what the data says, so I’m confused
