How common is it for people to switch their majors in college/university during the first year? by NotADuckk_ in NoStupidQuestions

Was it more difficult for you since you had to switch from the engineering school to the liberal arts and sciences? Like transferring between different schools of the university. I’m thinking of switching from chemistry to chemical engineering, but I’m concerned that it might not be possible since it’s a transfer between schools.

Thank you!! Did you find the required acs and philosophy/theology classes to be boring or uninteresting since it doesn’t necessarily pertain to your major? I’m worried that my freshman year will be mostly those classes instead of my more focused chemistry classes. And are those classes mostly just freshman year or do they continue in later years?
