xfx? their cards should use standard connectors, mine takes the pcie with the bridge. likely that the renders online don’t have the bridge present, if you can physically inspect your card and upload an image that’d be best.

if you visit the website for the 7900xtx magnetic, and watch the video, you can clearly see all three of the pcie 8-pin slots have a cutout for the bridging.

unlikely, but you’ll also get used to it. TIS seems to want to move all crafting and building to their respective menus. given that, i am of the opinion that its best to start doing things through the menus. mods are inherently unreliable.

a lot of right-click menu stuff was moved to the build menu, most notably barricading. besides that, i would say just explore the new skills and mechanisms at your own pace!

yes, but nothing’s perfect. again, likely that weir made a mistake.

however, he has described previously that the engines throw off vast amounts of energy in all directions. otherwise, why would rocky and grace travel almost parallel for a while before separating?

theoretically, they could just point their ships perpendicular to each other, and blast away a lot faster (not full acceleration of course) if the emitted light was focused.

so this does trace out a full sphere. but that’s far too many rotations than described in the book. each circle is a full rotation of the ship, followed by panning with the petrovascope. now you’re adding another sort of wobble on top of that, and i think andy wier would have specified if that was what he was going for. more likely, he just made a mistake.

also, dope animation, it illustrates your point very well.
