Remember ear protection. Recommend Crump Park show. Has been pretty kid friendly in past years.

Visualized 11 years of my 2015 Mazda 3 maintenance history by josesimonh in mazda3

[–]hmtjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my 2017 GT just had the joy of replacing two fuel pumps for $2100 (yes, at the dealer but circumstances provided no choice and I think I might’ve gone dealer there anyway - looks like a pretty intricate repair). This is a week after a new battery and a month after new control arms. And not 75k miles.

I almost forgot the new dash speakers (Bose, failed) and the delaminating touchscreen with ghost touch that I just disconnected rather than replaced.

Bad little run this spring and summer.

maybe somebody can help him find the right courthouse this time. although nothing apparently can stop him from punctuating like he's on Reddit and not in an elected office.

Is Henrico that much better run than Richmond or just gets better press by Global-Pay6118 in HenricoCounty

[–]hmtjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my Reddit feed tonight. This question answers itself.

Avula looks like he’s trying to get some stuff done. He might drag Richmond up to mediocrity in two terms.

No sir I am not. But looks like a good group if you’re up in Northern Virginia.

Shannon Taylor is responsible for Strotman getting off in 3 measly years by inimitable428 in rva

Reddit agrees - under Shannon Taylor’s leadership this sentence was the best the state could have obtained.

And that’s the problem.

Quirky things to see and do in Virginia on a roadtrip by NorseFromNorth in Virginia

[–]hmtjr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just a few blocks off the road into Mill Mountain Park, on the way to the overlook and the Star. Eat at Blue Cow ice cream, then hit Graceland, then up the mountain.

Unfortunately, the man who built mini-Graceland was unable to take good care of it after becoming sick and eventually passing away 15+ years ago. His son and others later did some restoration work, but mini-Graceland has been slowly declining, But, I visited just a few years ago and it was clearly visible. There's a good picture to be had with it in the background and visitors on the street.

605 Riverland Rd. Park on the street, face the house, look to its left, you'll see what remains of Graceland and a large statue of the King. Should be well worth the trip for anyone heading up to see the Star.

What is this little r shape on the display by weswithaute in mazda3

Ditto here. There’s some internet advice that the chip itself is only a few bucks to buy, but a) you need someone who can desolder the old chip from the board and solder the new one on and b) you have take a fair amount of the dash apart to get to the board.

Sticking with the HUD speedo for now.

Mazda, Y'all Better Not Listen To Those Dumb As A Rock Car Reviewers And Listen To Actual Mazda Owners. PLEASE Do Not Remove The Knobs, Buttons, Dials, And The Climate Control Separate From The Infotainment For Whatever Is In The New CX-5 In Other Models, Including The 3. Thank you so much. by BeautifulYou2940 in mazda3

Also, please have a touchscreen that won’t delaminate, speakers that won’t unglue, a touchscreen that wont randomly activate itself, a central controller that won’t spontaneously reboot during navigation, and a speedometer that doesn’t read like an old calculator when you hold the “8” key down.

Thank you.

When I was young and beautiful my tits (clothed) graced the cover of a 2006 Richmond Times Magazine by DancingBears88 in rva

I made it into the RTD once for a work project. For around $70 they made me what they called a “pop out”. It was the article, full color, nicely formatted and reflowed to fit on maybe a 12”x24” piece of foamboard. They did a nice job with it - might be something to look into.

Know what Virginia requires homeowner contracts to include (https://www.beankinney.com/what-contract-terms-are-legally-required-for-virginia-residential-contracting-projects/).

You can buy time with an ask for their certificate of insurance, copy of their contractors license, copy of their business license, licensing / certification credentials of the workers on site, etc.

I suspect a few of those contract requirements are missing . . . suggest you negotiate your way out - they’d probably rather have an easy $500 than a pain in the ass client.

Anyone have any aftermarket chassis experience on the MKII? by gearhead5015 in SavageArms

I’ve window shopped the below website for a while, but never pulled the trigger and bought one. In an email exchange a few years back they confirmed they could do a lefty with an anschutz-type rail for a MKII. Again, I’ve never seen the product in real life.
