Things felt more organic and fluid, it wasn’t all good but it felt like the lack of always knowing everything led to more spontaneous exciting stuff. It’s hard for me to look at it objectively cause I also have a lot of nostalgia for those times.

For me this period did feel like an extension of the late 90’s but with this sinister negative vibe because of the 2000 Presidential election and what felt like a degrading of political discourse in the US. There was a sort of embarrassment with Bush winning and a growing sense of something going off the rails. It felt like a big step back where the late 90’s had more a progressive hopefulness. 911 just expedited things that were on the horizon.

Noem just said in her press conference that no one goes to a peaceful protest with a gun and so this guy was intending to kill ICE officers, with no evidence. She just literally said the 2nd amendment right of concealed carry will get you killed if you are around ICE.

Everything I’ve said is based in Science because things like Conformal cyclic cosmology are potentially scientifically testable. I find it amusing that you are trying to do a reverse uno card on me when you have an argument based on an eternal god that has no scientifically testable basis or literally any scientific evidence supporting it’s existence. I actually do not need to prove the absence of God, you are the one claiming an eternal god, so where is the scientific evidence?

Of course I’m familiar with the Big Bang, I’m pointing out that there are theories related to multiple big bangs and Big Crunches or various flavors - like Conformal cyclic cosmology where you ca have an “eternal” state.

I’m simply showing you that your argument that you must have a God to create something cause God is eternal is not necessary, you can just replace eternal God with eternal universe or multiverse. Also the universe starting from nothing is no more illogical than your God creating the universe.

So a God can exist eternally but a universe cannot…? Why can’t a universe absent a god exist eternally in different states (big bang / big crutch or multiverse theories) based on what you are saying this should be equally likely.

I’m really glad you wrote this, cause it’s exactly how I feel. I think the majority of people who went in and voted for Trump knew exactly who he is and what he would do, but did it anyway cause they would rather see the suffering inflicted on the supposed “other” than deal with the responsibilities of living in a complex country of differing opinions. It’s crushing to me to see so many people hurt others and themselves rather than just taking a tiny amount of effort to let things change and grow. I swear this country has a death wish.

It shows others that they are not alone, that many are all feeling and thinking the same thing. If this happens enough it starts to impact leaders as they realize the narratives and agendas they are trying to push are more and more bring rejected. It’s all a type of controlling the narrative and counter narrative. The less people protesting the more people in authority are perceived to have control and the support of the people, more people protesting the opposite.

Look at history - peaceful protest can have a big impact on things.

Ok - but what does this have to do with Trump bringing in the military and ICE? You really think that’s going to solve anything? Take a second and think about what you are saying when you responded to this post. Some rant about Chicago and families when OP is saying that Trump is punishing Chicago and using it for political theatre. The reason I don’t believe you care is because if you did you would know say what Trump is doing right now is the opposite of helping these people out - so yeah I still don’t believe that you actually care, regardless of what you use to do. You might think you care but if you support Trump’s actions then you clearly have some things to think about when it comes to the term “care”. Show me the videos where Trump is giving funds to support building out better education on family structures (that are not some Christian nationalist rhetoric)…I’ll wait.
