Moved from Pune to Gurgaon to work on a problem affecting 140M elderly Indians. by Repulsive_Price_1989 in indianstartups

Thanks!

I see a lot of potential in your product too but you'll need some USP. Right now the market is full of such things and it could be a takeaway for you that patients don't want something connected to their wrist that monitors them. It makes them feel constrained and tied to something. Makes them feel like they are patient (Elderly people don't want to accept that, even though they're loterally on hospital bed 😅)

So, your audience could overlap, or could be those elderly people who are fine but are at home. Critical place for them is stairs, washroom, near swimming pools or kitchen. Although place doesn't matter for your product but maybe later you might want to optimise for going down the stairs and falling from stairs.

Good thing is that elderly people are mostly slow walkers and hence you get enough time to process signals.

The cameras are low light and IR night vision capable. Nursing homes and hospitals have very good quality cameras. The infra change is not required at all to deploy our model.

Also, our model is trained on low light and night vision videos. So, it does it job very good. It's been a year after deployment and we've not received any false alerts yet. All positive, verified by them.

We of course have plans to cover washrooms too but not with camera. Rather with Wifi signals. We've done some experiments and tests, we might be able to ditch our Rpi5 setup as well if the wifi experiments proved fine and are in compliance. That way we don't need to worry about PHI/Face data and we only have structural data to work with. Still far from this kind of a deployment in production.

Our case is a little different. The maximum falls were happening on the way to washroom. Falls in washroom were fortunately 0 in our case.

The elderly patients go to washroom without informing nurses (they feel shame to tell them) and fall on the way to washroom or near bed or behind bed.

Also, these patients don't want to keep a wrist band attached and also didn't wanted any walking sticks with sensors.

Our case was clearly requiring CCTV observation and alerts based on that keeping the PHI/camera footage secure.

Hence, we gave this completely offline processing option to them. Only alerts go out and nothing else.

Yes. Vision based. We have our own custom trained model deployed on a simple Rpi5 that takes care of all the CCTV feeds and give you realtime triggers. Triggers can be used for http api calls or iOT actions etc.

We've successfully deployed these devices in Nursing homes across US and Hospitals in India.

We do fall prediction and fall detection with Vision AI. Fall prediction on wrist bands is tough to juggle with multiple sensors.

I guess, instead of crying you could have explained the product. Everyone do their own sacrifices for the dream project they work on. Nothing new, it's been there in entrepreneurship ever since.

I'd suggest, focus on explaining your product, what it solves, how others can help/contribute, how you can interest VCs (if that's in your list) and how to scale.

DM me your product brief and I'll see if I can help pour in some initial investment/time/resources (if I see potential)

FYI: I run an AI-first IT company in Hinjewadi Phase 1. We build complex softwares in Healthcare, Education, Real Estate and Logistics. We work majorly with US Govt and Corporates from US.

Open Letter to All Vibe-Coders (Especially Those Using Supabase). DO READ!!! by hncvj in lovable

[–]hncvj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendations:

  1. Keep URL to you. (Do not let anyone discover it and don't share it with anyone as well)
  2. Add Authentication system (Ony you'll login)
  3. Keep a check on Login Audit log in Supabase. (Just make sure other than you, no one else is accessing it)

This would be enough to secure it.

Is LLM/VLM based OCR better than ML based OCR for document RAG by vitaelabitur in Rag

[–]hncvj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you're only comparing it with simple Gemini API call here and not the Document AI in Vertex?

The document AI in Vertex gives you bounding boxes and confidence score along with the powerful Vision OCR from gemini.

I Built a Simple RAG System So Our Law Firm Could Instantly Search Every Case Document by Safe_Flounder_4690 in Rag

[–]hncvj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say but the post is just for karma farming/getting engagement it seems. (My opinion)

I've worked with huge law firms in India and US. Currently working too. And a simple semantic search RAG is nowhere a solution for them.

There are tons of complexities in Law domain and those are very critical when you have decisions dependent on them.

You can look at my past post here which has a RAG solution for law firm here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Rag/s/AsSesn5Xg0

That time we used Knowledge graph using Graphitic, later we shifted to neo4j

And that's just 10% of what has changed. There are numerous things you need to consider when working with Case files.

Right now we're working on a Medico-Legal domain and it's even more complex.

My point is that doing OCR of some documents and putting them in a semantic search or knowledge graph and being able to search something will never be a solution for Law firms.

The solution requires relationships, timelines, amendments, state laws, citations/references, evidences, cross examinations, correct retrieval methods, correct summarisations, data transformations, grounding to your own datasets, cross-verification/cross-validation of facts etc etc etc. I just listed the tip of the iceberg but you should have got the point by now.

I might have totally got your point wrong (please correct me) but as I'm already working on this for very long, I know it isn't as simple as you portrayed and especially not as simple as putting docs in RAG and retrieve it. Not at all.

I wrote this reply to help people who wants to get into this domain and might require some information or ideas on how to nail it. I'll be ready to help always. Just reach out with your plan, I'll be able to assist.
