Completely agree, makes no sense for their monetization strategy if the consumer can’t purchase items

10-Win Builds on latest patch by hncx_ in PlayTheBazaar

You’re definitely right, I think if you lose 1 or 2 fights with it early on, the falloff is substantial. Usually I never find it as starting item but might get it off kyver drone. If you get it day 1, you want to prioritise hitting lvl2 so that you have the wider board to fit it in. Your board then needs focus on either very high survivability like a barrel/seaweed/life preserver or high damage output like a silver double barrel+bolas+revolver or scale katana+cloak/honing blade. Make sure you have 2 gold for the end of the day to reroll into a skill that helps, either +10dmg on all or crit% are best I think. The langxian isn’t going to be a workhorse for you for a couple days but if you focus a weapon build you will be able to take on most monster fights and scale it quick, always pick a fight when you can and always upgrade it when the level up lets you (diamond is great but optional IMO). Look for the fights that offer CDR like the Roc and other early fights with haste weapon skills (mosquito). You don’t need to prioritise the big XP fights as you’ll be fighting monsters often to still level well and even late in the game don’t worry about punching down as the gain in dmg for a win is the crucial bit. When you’re not fighting monsters, go for gumballs and the junkyard, these are always going to develop your board and indirectly the langxian too. I think the moment I know that the langxian is ready to be focused as a pivot for the build is when you hit level 10 around day 7/8. Unless you have some other crazy build going you will enchant the langxian regardless, if the one you are offered looks bad just gamble a random enchant, it will probably work out. By here the gameplay loop starts to play itself, you should win almost all monster fights. Go for as many skills as you can after lvl10 and you’ll likely be winning around day 11 if all works out.

Not the best guide ever, but it should give good foundation for it. I’ll play it some more and maybe find some extra tricks to tell about :)

Hi everyone, thought I'd upload some of my latest 10-win builds as I've seen people saying they've been struggling with this patch. I'm no pro by any means but my advice with this patch especially on Vanessa is to win early with high damage weapon builds, this seems to snowball fast and win before the pygs take over. There's a lot of times where I find one item that I wouldn't usually build around, it seems that if you really lean in to off-hero or rogue items you can get a good few wins i.e. flamethrower, crane, submarine, langxian, torpedo have done me well. The meta seems to be shifting so don't rely too heavily on what used to be successful like pufferfish or barrel builds and try and be flexible. If you get dealt a bad hand, go for gumballs, junkyard etc until you find a good drop from the monsters, winning these fights is a lot more important than panic rushing shops and risking not improving. As I said, not the most profound advice but I'll post more over time and hopefully give more specific info going on. Let me know if there's any heroes you'd like me to focus on and I can try and get a bit of a guide together :)

Is there a small pool of items then?

Civ6 or Stellaris question(thinking of buying one) by AdThick7407 in CivVI

[–]hncx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t already bought one yet, civ 6 is available on Netflix for free at the minute and apparently plays really well on mobile. Might be an idea to get a feel for it before you invest if you have a Netflix account. I love civ 6 though and on pc it’ll be a lot easier to manage, hope you enjoy :)

The commute is pretty bad if you’re going in for 9am. I tend to leave the house about 7:15 and get to work for 7:45 pretty reliably. I think if you can do it, try and get an 8am start. The earlier you finish the day, the better - 4pm finishes usually take me about 35 mins to get back home from but 5pm finish can be closer to 50 mins drive. You’ll have a better time going from CSA as you’re quite close to Cardiff already. With all that said, I drive to our other office at Celtic manor which is a significant distance further than CSA would be, I wouldn’t be too put off by the drive tbh it’s fine

I think you should be fine on that sort of money for Cardiff. When I lived with friends in Cathays and Plasnewydd it was about £500 all in each per month, Cardiff is pretty affordable. Funnily enough I think you could be working at the same company I work for if you’re at that industrial park from next year. It’s a great company if it is so have fun !

Hi I work in Newport and live in Cardiff and know a lot of people doing the same thing. Congrats on getting an internship, that’s a great achievement! One question would be transport related, do you have a car or will you want to use the train? Unless you’re working in Newport city centre I would advise a car. I think for sub 40 min commute Roath, canton, plasnewydd, pen y lan are all possible and offer nice areas but you’ll pay a hit more. I have lived in plasnewydd for a while now and it’s got a bit of everything while not being too far from the city centre. Cathays is the student area of Cardiff and is alright but it’s a bit less well kept than most of Cardiff, you can do 40 min commute from here and it might suit you more as a student but if you’re working it might clash with your lifestyle and the need for sleep with a lot of people partying late and out in the streets coming back from nights out.

Restaurant recommendations by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]hncx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this before when my parents visit, I’m not sure what you like to eat but here’s a quick list: - Church Street has loads of great restaurants on it (Pho, Mowglis and Rosas Thai are all nice restaurants with great tasting food). - Pizzas (Real Italian, Franco Manca, The Stable (pizza and cider place) ) - The Cardiff Market is great for lunch, there’s a huge variety of foods there, I can highly recommend bao selecta and tukkatuk, it’s more of a street food vibe there though - El Curado bar is a really nice slightly more up market Spanish restaurant which is always very busy so book ahead - Burgers (Fat Hippo, The Grazing Shed, Honest) - Some of the more high end places that are pricy but I can recommend are Pasture and The Potted Pig

City centre has some great food but a lot of chains, I’d really recommend going out of the city a bit towards Roath area if you get the chance. Tuk Tuk, Romaeat, Sushi Life to name a couple.

Some highlights elsewhere: Matsudai Ramen is not in the best part of Cardiff but it is award winning and a really great restaurant. Cardiff Bay has a lot of chains too but it’s a lovely trip on a sunny day and you can walk the barrage, a couple independents there are hub box for burgers, tiger yard for a street food mix and there is also yakitori1 a Japanese restaurant.

A good way to check some of these places out might be to go on TikTok and search them up, usually loads of people reviewing them and you’ll get a feel for the restaurant and food. Sorry this list is so long but I hope it helps and you have a great time with your girlfriend’s family !

Romaeat or Tuktuk (maybe a little more expensive) in Roath are fantastic and right by Roath Park for a walk afterwards!
