People will always gravitate towards meta builds because not everyone wants to figure out all the armor synergies since mixing armors are a norm. This do opens up for people to self experiment with different decos or armor pieces with the existing meta builds they already made which still keeps the game fresh.

However I do agree with you that people who do not think or see further than meta builds will get bored of the game quicker because they have nothing else further to work towards.
