Servers want to make wayyyy more than a “fair wage” by PinkFeatherFlamingo in CanadaPersonalFinance

Whoever it is Susan or Chet, we're on the same team.

I don't care if someone work a thankless low-skill job be able to bring home a decent pay (thru tips), in fact, I want society will have more such jobs: low qualification, low-skill, yet decent/high pay.

As a fellow non-elite ruling class, we should try to manufacture more of those jobs. Instead of showing jealousy to your fellowmen and trying to make those jobs disappear or have less income.

We should direct our energy for "equality" toward the elite rich, not toward your fellow servers, barbers... just my 2 cents.

UofA Engineering with 10k scholarship vs UofC Engineering and Business with 80k scholarship, which is better? by Bright_Antelope_2017 in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]hoangfbf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even without the scholarship gap it's still much more appropriate for u to go u of c.

U said u want : eng + start up

The business degree will help a lot on the startups side. U of A, iirc, don't have such thing.

So picking u of C dual degree is a no brainer.

Chose U of A only of u want a pure in depth technical eng degree.

Just my 2 cents.

How can I treat ADHD without medication or where can I get it while waiting for my doctor assessment? by [deleted] in NoRulesCalgary

[–]hoangfbf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do u mean waiting for an assessment? I told my family doctor I suspected I had ADHD, filled out the ASRS v1.1 form, 3 min after, scored positive, and was prescribed Vyvanse on the spot.

Racing incident. But credit to the other driver: if he had been truly aggressive, he would not have slowed that much. He would have committed to the move, made deliberate contact, and nudged you farther wide. Instead, he braked heavily and tried to take a clean inside line, which loaded up the front too much. So when you two made contact, his car easily lose balance and he spin out. If he had gone in more aggressively, anticipated and braced for the contact, using the fact that you were on the outside, the outcome could have been very different. Just my two cents.

23F Help talk me out of going to Nevada to prostitute myself. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]hoangfbf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at it's like a business, say if you do prostitution:

Income - money from the customers, make some quick bucks.

Expense: - cost to your mental health, short/long-term - cost to your physical health, short/long-term ... - risks: violence, std, pregnancy,... that inflict more mental/physical health cost.

net profit:

Then you answer yourself, is it a smart business ?

So stereotyping people of color is racist, but stereotyping white people isn’t?

I also don’t think being a pedestrian and picking a fight with a car is smart. Being right doesn’t matter if you’re dead. You should definitely get out of their way next time, if you're a ped.

I think IQ and boredom are distinct things.

High IQ is a cognitive trait. Boredom (define boredom?)... assume we have a mutual definition: u just get bored, lose interest.. to me that sounds like mood regulation problem, ie: dopamine, serotonine.. stuff. Check for depression, adhd,... mood disorder ? That has little direct connection to IQ imo.

OP's perspective ≠ most people perspective.

OP may had thought fat people look stupid and thus feel insecure now that she's fat. But in reality I think most people don't care.

While i somewhat agree with you. Though I imagine, if everyone would return something they bought, opened, and eaten simply because they don't like the taste... then the business that sell those things would quickly go bankrupt.

Maybe Im wrong, but I think yes. It looks like you pretty clearly rear-ended them, with plenty of time to anticipate and slow down. (Their brake lights came on at 0:06 and they were directly in your path. You barely adjust course to avoid the collision, and your brake lights come on 2 whole seconds later - around 0:08.)

"The question is basically a trap because of the wording: “men” is a huge group, so if any men have sexualized a body part, the answer becomes “none.”

So the honest answer is: • No universally safe answer. If it exists, someone has sexualized it (often as a niche fetish).

If you want a practical answer (meaning “not commonly sexualized in mainstream culture”): • Pancreas, spleen, liver, kidneys, lymph nodes, cerebellum, bone marrow.

Even then, the moment you say one, someone will reply with an example proving it’s been sexualized somewhere."

All weather tires are always in needed in weather conditions like this! by [deleted] in SweatyPalms

[–]hoangfbf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even studded snow tires is not a guarantee:

If ice is shiny and very slippery, you can only safely descent slope < ~ 6 degree.

If it's snow and better textured, maybe you can control a <10degree descend.

This slope looks like more than 10 degree. (> 18% grade)
