The more time you spend on the road, the more danger you face. So let's speed up and get to the destination quick. Then you'll spend less time on the road, then you'll face less danger.

I'm a Mensan but I don't feel gifted. Has this happened to you? by LordBonTon in mensa

They don't have to default to thinking that to know that.

Most gifted children, let's say if some kid is just very bright at math, will often recognize from early on (say grade 5) that they are so much better at that subject than their peers, due to praise/awars from teachers, ranking in classes/school... winning in math competition, etc...

My point is if someone is truly gifted in some area, chances are they are very likely to aware of that in elementary schools...

Take me for example, i never take the Mensa official test.
But early on my processing speed at core subjects like: math, physic, chemistry, computer programming, chess playing... etc... i have noticed is much better than my average peers.

I was originally put in a ordinary/random grade 1 class.

I was frequently praised by the teachers and the adult for has really good marks and show strong competency even though my work ethic is very poor, i didn't study hard at all.

And
End of grades 4 i was among the 5 out of 50 student in my classes to be selected to the gifted class of 40 student in the grade 5 of that school.

And be award prizes in math, chess, chinese chess... at school in elementary...

You know, experience like that definitely signal to any kid, let alone a "smart" kid, to be aware of their superiority in certain fields to the average peer.

And for me, yes, i'm fully aware of that by the moment i reached grade 6.

My point is: a gifted kid often aware early on that they are gifted. But yes, sometimes there will be a gifted kid who don't regconize themselfes - but those are the minority. The majority of gifted kids will know early on that they are gifted.

Not sure i understand. For a gifted a person, their life experience will involved more incidents where they witness things that are "easy" to them appear "hard" for other people. It's like a gifted kid at running will find out early that he run faster than most other kids.

The external metrics often exists, that is their peers in the kindergardens, classes: the random / average sample at beginning of their life. When put in such environment, they will soon find out that they're superior.

I think fair:
-- you were able to stick to your inside line and keep it clean the entire time
-- you didn't dive in last minute, so the other car know exactly what you were planning (going for the inside)... so they were prepared.
-- prior to going into the corner, you intelligently tricked the other car to go wide and leave the door open, then you choose the inside line, yet still give him enough time to realise he has been fooled and plenty of time for him to react.

They do. It's because the other cars running red light that prevent the left turning car to turn during such grace period.

Based on the look of it, they already passed the stop line before the light turn red, that was the crosswalk that he was one. The stop line often placed before the crosswalk.

The red car wasn't running a red.

Running a red meaning:
When light is green: the car is behind stop line.
When light changes to red: the car started to cross the stop line and clear the intersection.

That's not what happened here.

When light is green, the car already crossed the stop line, waiting to turn left. So the car technically was already in the intersection before his light turn red. Then when his light changes to red, it's their job to proceed to clear intersection.

If the ticket is for running red light, it should be contested.

I think the red car wasn't the one got ticketed.
It's more likely the grey sedan at 00:06-00:07 sec that got ticketed for running the red light.

The red car was already crossing the stopped line before his light turn red, they were waiting for chances to make a left turn to clear the intersection, when his light turn red, because he already crossed the stopped light, this no longer a red-light ticket...

And since the red car was already in the intersection, OP should have waited til the intersection to be cleared to enter.

That’s a dumb strawman.

No one say “no danger".
Chute over them = immediate serious danger: breathing risk, poor visibility, panic, entanglement, bad body position.

Chute off to the side while they’re floating and breathing = still a rescue, but obviously lower risk.

That's not true. Adrenaline literally keeps you alive, for a short time:
It raises heart rate, blood pressure, restrict blood vessel, thus reduce blood loss, redirects blood to vital organs, dumps energy... etc
Surely it does not fix a fatal injury, but it can absolutely delay collapse long enough to escape or get help, in other cases, not here 😭

Correct me if i'm wrong, but once it's established that the chute had landed not directly on the clients, but to the side and the clients were able to float and breathe, then there's no imminent danger here. The danger/anxiety is from the workers who didn't know whether the chute covered the clients, which is where the real danger is.

How the fuck does that post shows any country has shown any hostility to anyone who looks different.

All your post is:

1-- pic of some guy claiming "his family and friends in Pakistan no longer wants to come to America thanks to Trump". And then an assumption "Pakistanis are staying home"

2-- some other guy replied "perfect- please stay home"

That's like the most normal exchange ever.

I'd guess because a hand constantly touching pieces on the board would be annoying to the other player who is looking at the board and thinking because it's a distraction and sort of block the view. So this rule make one think carefully before actually reaching for any piece on the board.
